Mine is from a character in Malcolm Lowry's novel "Under the Volcano."
"Geoffrey Firmin, former British Proconsul to Mexico and a hoeless alcoholic, spends the Day of the Dead in Mexico City with his ex-wife and her new lover." I'm a bit of a "visionary".

How about you?

Bettierage--kind of a psychobilly take on Bettie Page. I'm not a cult of Bettie girl, just liked the play on words...=0)

Guess what my first name and last initial are.

Go on.

I'll wait.

When I signed up, it told me to give my first name and last name, if I recall correctly, but I'm too savvy to share my full name on The Internets. I didn't have the brains to change it at the time.

suprBobo: I thought Bobo was a nod to MST3K! Very sad now. :( :( :(

My avatar looks like me, except I have more of a pixie cut than a shag (think Halle Berry-style hair). I didn't like either of the shorter haircuts than this, so I picked this one. Black hair, dark blue eyes, pale skin, nonetheless. I liked the nature background the best, and I'm in camping gear (I think) because I didn't want to be wearing a dress, and this was one of the less annoying non-dress outfits that I found (didn't want to wear a halter top or skater pants.)

I had a hard life growing up in the back roads of Eastern Ky and West Virginia in the 50's and 60's. Life can be rocky.
This is why I chose rocky road for my avatar name, not some ice cream flavor.

Through Jesus our lives can become sweet and smooth.

Sorry, this may not be all that interesting. When I first came to Y!A I went to the Baby and Parenting section for some pointers. The first question I answered was about adoption. Not sure how I wandered into R&S.

Well my avatar is a picture of a Puffin I saw while I was in Iceland.

My screen name is the name of a poem in the Poetic Edda which I find humorous due to the rowdy nature of it's contents. Lokasenna means "Loki's Quarrellings" and it's where Loki and the rest of the Gods in Asgard trade insults.

I took my name from "Wuthering Heights". (Catherine Earnshaw). I've been obsessed with that book since I was about 12 years old.

The face of my avatar looks like me. I tried to get the hair as close as possible, but they really didn't have a choice on there that nailed it. My hair is wavier, and is a light reddish-brown.

Mine is a joke - my inspiration is the 'accomplished stunt man', Super Dave Osborn. A friend of mine and I, in Jr High School made up two new characters, Super Steve and Super Bob (me) Osborn, Super Dave's sons. We then did 'stunts between classes.

'Osborn' wasn't available when I created the yahoo account, so I went with 'Osbourne'. 'Bobo' is my shortened version of my created stunt man.

The picture is me - I am actually BBbbbuttters.

I picked my name from Sleeping Beauty. When she had to go hide in the woods then her name was Briar Rose. Sleeping Beauty was my favorite Disney movie as a child so I chose to name myself after the character.

I think it comes from Elijah. I chose it because it's my name. Originally it was elliot l, but some people confused the l for a 1 or an i, and I felt it was a bit slack to just keep the default, so I changed it to elliot.
