In Detroit the bypass is upwards of $30,000. The lapband isn't covered by every policy, but when my mom had it done last year it was $12000. Her insurance covered 80% of it and the hospital wrote off around 2 grand. So her out of pocket wasn't that bad.

if you dont have insurance, GB is about 27 thousand dollars, If you have insurance your insurance will pay it, but they will make you do 12 months on a weight program first.
