As much as you can. On used cars you will probably have to pay a higher interest rate so the more you have down the less interest you have to pay. Also the more you can save on the purchase price the better off you are. Check the want ads in your local paper. Also check out the auctions near your area. Sometimes you can find a used car salesman who has his dealer's license and will go with you to an auction and purchase the car for you for a fee. The ones around here will want 50 to a 100 bucks. Good luck

Save up to your neck. Because your gonna need it for repairs. Buy a cheap new car. Or better yet, get a bicycle. That way you can feel the bugs hit your teeth.

If you're going to get a loan you'll probably need around $1000 down at least.

If you're going to pay cash and you're not picky, just want something reliable and not a piece of crap, you should be able to get something in the 2k-3k range. Just make sure the car has less than around 150k miles on it, is a reliable brand (Honda, Toyota), and doesn't make any crazy noises or smells and you'll probably be okay short of a full mechanical examination.

That depends on the kind of car you would like to purchase, you will need at least 2500-3000dollars, to buy a car that will get you around town. And it will be used, and several years old.

you will need at least 1000.00 maybe 500.00 if you have good car credit. up to 3000.00 if you have had a repo in the past.
my advice??? DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE ENTERING THE DEALERSHIP! You need to know more about the car you are trying to buy than they do! Then you can be asured a decent price and payment
