I'm Pagan and I say y'all, but then again my childhood was spent in the south.

Why do y'all assume all Christians like using the word y'all?

I like using the word "y'all" because it fills in a gap in the English language (plural second person). And I just like the way that "all y'all" sounds.

I say y'all all the time and I am not a christian. It's a southern thing. I grew up in Mississippi so it is branded in me. I try not to say it because my yankee husband laughs and calls me a hick. Oh well...

I think southerners say that, and most southerners are Christian... so I get where you're coming from. And I'm going to have to argue the question because I don't think that they enjoy it per se, or at least I don't think that's the main reason for them saying it. I think it is just habit.

I'm an atheist and I use y'all because to my ears "you all" sounds snobby and weird and "you guys/gals" sounds immature. And just a generic "you" sounds lacking.
Did you run out of ways to make fun of christians and had to move on to dialects?

Christians with a capital C (which really means Evangelical/Fundamentalist Christians) tend to use "Y'all" because they are from the Red States.
Remember, they are ones who voted for Bush. They think Bush is a regular moral guy.
(Note:not all followers of Christ do this (Christians in the true sense of the word); I know you were referring to the self-proclaimed _C_hristians)

Well, down yonder in the south everybody says Y'all not just Christians..
Now take off your nose and smack yourself upside your head.

I'm an atheist, and I say "ya'll" all the time. If you live in any region of the country for any period of time, you pick up their vernacular as part of your own. If I moved to New England, I'd eventually start saying things like "wicked", I'm sure.
Don't make this a Christian/non-Christian thing. You make yourself look petty by doing so, and belittle the rest of us.
