It's o.k. I am gay and Christian...it happens. Many cannot understand it or accept it...but, that is their lot in life.
God made me the way I am, as he made your brother. People will quote scriptures all day long to you...but, remember the same Bible that they use to condemn gay people is the same Bible that our ancestors used to justify slavery.
Being a Baptist, I am sure you are aware that Southern Baptists are Southern Baptists because they broke from the Northern Baptists over slavery. Southern Baptists believed slavery was ordained by God...something they just apologized for in the past 10 years...anyway, they are a bit out of touch, and I believe misdirected. They are turning many good people away from God, instead of inviting them to his loving arms...they will answer for their deeds one day.
Love your brother...that's what God does.

Let's look at it this way...the Bible says love your neighbor. Basically, this means to love all people. It does not say to discriminate against someone because of their race, color, marital status, religion, or sexual preference, or anything else. Just simply..Love Your Neighbor. It can't get any easier than that.
God loves everyone...all of his children. Any attempt for any religion to say differently is wrong, wrong, wrong!!! How can a religion preach love of God, and then spout discrimination and intolerance of their fellow man. It's totally hypocritical. Most of the wars in the world have been over religion and people's intolerance of others who are different.
The would would be a lot better off if we could all accept and love each other for who we are...
If the Baptist church has a problem with you loving your brother, then I would say they have a problem....and personally, if I were you, I wouldn't worry about it.
Just remember...God didn't write the Bible...men did. And the Bible has been translated so many times, who knows what was lost from the original writings or what they actually said.

Praise God, I think you've got it!! Finally!! You cannot reject someone you love just because they're gay. You can enjoy a full relationship with your brother, and so can your children, as long as you explain to them that he has made a choice of lifestyle that God says is wrong. You should not do this until they're old enough to understand. It's important to remember that homosexuality is a sin, but you can't just stop loving someone and throw them out of your life just because of that, any more than you would want them to throw you out of your life just because of your sins. Jesus lived among sinners and continually pointed out to the religious leaders their hypocritic ways. We should take a lesson from this.

Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is no law against love. You are not responsible for your brother's sexual orientation. You are responsible for being his sister. You cannot change anyone who does not want to change, so don't even attempt it. People that say you should try do not know what they are talking about. Salvation is an individual responsibility, an individual decision. Homosexuals do get saved, but this does not automatically turn them into heterosexuals. Drunks get saved, but this rarely causes them to sober up overnight. the most that you can do is to pray for him and introduce him to Christianity. Everything must be accomplished one step at a time. Your brother will receive Christ because of your witness to him when God is ready for him. He can find fulfillment in Christ without leading the homosexual lifestyle, but this is totally up to him and how he responds to how God leads him. The worst thing that you could ever do is to stop loving him and to keep his nephews from him---denying a man access to his family because of cultural or spiritual beliefs is cruel beyond description. Jesus loves you both.

No it does not make you wrong for tolerating it, but if someone was trying to tell you to keep you children away or to not be around your brother, because he is different, well they have issues, not you.
As for your faith in the Bible, WWJD, would he love brother or turn him away because his different, I would think love would be his answer, what would you think he would do.
Only if their was more people like you who have tolerance.
Hope this helps

Admittedly, it is a tough decision.
You know the Bible speaks against homosexuality.
However, you love your friend the way he is.
May I quote words uttered by Jesus:
"He that has greater affection for father or mother than for me is not worthy of me; and he that has greater affection for son or daughter than for me is not worthy of me." Matthew 10:37
Heavy stuff!
But that's how serious it can get.
What relationship is stronger?
You and your God, or you and your friend?
Its sad one must choose.
To urge you in a certain direction, may I quote Jeremiah 17:9
“The heart is more treacherous than anything else and is desperate."
Don't go with your heart.
This does not mean you despise (or hate) him.
It is the practice you despise that he is not willing to curb.

You follow a philosophy that asks you to be intolerant of what your family members engage in. Now, if youre brother is in a loving, consentual relationship and is happy and not hurting anyone else, why SHOULDNT you continue to love him?
Dont change your brother - change your faith. Not saying to stop beleiving in God, but at least try to find a church that is a bit more accepting to others.

There are a lot of scriptural passages that tell us Homosexuality is wrong.
Darwinian theory tells us that homosexuals are defective and become homosexuals so that the defect is not propagated.
None of this is in the Ten Commandments.
In the parable of the young man Jesus tells us that no one is good and that to get to heaven we have to follow the commandments, love others as we love ourselves and give up everything we have to follow Christ.
Your brother has as much chance of going to heaven as someone who eats shrimp.
Encourage your brother to love the Lord God with all his heart and to give his life to Jesus.

The Old & New Testiments each have scriptures which teach tolerence. Jesus walked a path of acceptance, and forgiveness, so should we.

Let me see... you're exercising love and tolerance instead of hate and bigotry. Sounds good to me so sod what anyone else thinks.
As a Christian you should know it is your brother's responsibility if he wants to accept Christ or not, whether he chooses to or not does not mean you cannot love him for who he is.
