my sony trinitron xbr tv doesn't power on, the standby button keeps flashing, what is the problem?

picture is great when it will power on and not in the standby mode. when i power it on i can hear it clicking but it remains in the standby mode.

Unplug the power from the wall. Wait 30 sec and plug back.

If the light is still flashing, call Sony support. The flashing pattern will help them identify the problem.
