I recently had a problem ongoing for over two weeks with this. At first I thought it had to be wax build-up since it would not go away (even when I slept my ears didn't drain). I tried a wax treatment that only added a greasy discharge from my ears for a few days but did nothing to alleviate the echo-y reverb in my ears. So, Walgreens sold this "swimmer's ear" drops--supposed to eliminate water in the ears. Tried it, it worked immediately. Ingredients is 95% alcohol, 5% glycerine. I'm not sure why the alcohol works but it seems to break up whatever surface tension the water has that is keeping it from draining out the ears. After you put about 5 drops in each ear, keep your head tilted to the side so the drops can work for a few minutes, then have a tissue or cotton to absorb the runoff. I also took a Q-tip is swabbed my ears (not too deeply).

Lay down and put the side with water in the ear down. Wait a few moments and then jiggle it with your baby finger. If that doesn't loosen it up you can put a few drops of rubbing alcohol in that ear and lay on the affected side, ear down for 15 minutes and that should help.

Well if lying on your side doesn't work, try putting a drop of rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and stuffing it in your ear. The alcohol should dry up the water.

Hop on one leg keeping it stiff so it jars your body when you land then tilt whatever ear has the water in it down. Hopefully it will get jarred out from the hopping. Normally after a few tries it works for me.

lean your head to the side and keep ..........I dont know how to explain it, but like head bob with the ear faceing towards the floor, after a few times you should feel the water moving, you'll be able to tell when it's all gone

What works for me is mixing half peroxide and half alcohol, the peroxide cleans out your ear, and the alcohol dries it.
