How a Battery is Made

Alkaline batteries get their long life from their unique construction and the purity of the materials used to manufacture them.

Like all other batteries, alkaline batteries have a cathode (the positive part of the battery) and an anode (the negative part of the battery).

However, unlike zinc chloride batteries, where the cathode is the inside portion of the battery and the anode is on the outside, the alkaline cathode is on the outside and the alkaline anode is on the inside.
