His german shepard mix just had a litter of puppies. She's about 3 years old. He said he had her tubes clipped, which was a new procedure that his vet had him do. (I've never heard of it, and haven't had time to look into it, I assumed they always just took everything out) Anyway, he wants to have the 2 puppies he's keeping nuetered at 6 weeks, doesn't have any idea how much their shots are. And now he's decided he's going to 'donate' the mother to the police department. Because she's young enough to learn to be a police dog. Another lady chimed in with 'oh, she's going to be a drug dog! How awesome!' I didn't say anything, just shook my head and walked away.
I figure he's just shipping her off to the shelter and doesn't want to look like a jerk.

I would prefer to have the entire uterus taken out. You can spay and neuter at six weeks and we have had several officers take our adult dogs.
The last one was a 90 pound black lab named psyhco. He was a crazy fool. We have several adult dogs get adopted and become therapy dogs but Im not sure where he would have found the resources for such an adoption.

Yep, I too figure he doesn't want to look like a jerk, because that's clearly what he is!
'Getting her tubes clipped' - B.S. It isn't done, not to dogs. You don't just leave the uterus and ovaries in there to fester, it wouldn't work! This guy's thinking of a vasectomy (done to human MALES) - a pretty feeble attempt at covering up that he wants puppies!
As for neutering at 6 weeks - it isn't done, except by a butcher. Again, he's just trying to look cool, as if the earlier you get it done the better - neutering isn't done before 5 months, or 4 in special cases!
I really hope he IS donating the mother to the police - police dogs are well kept and happy (the english ones I know anyway - they live with owners, not in kennels). She'd be a lot better off with them, or in a shelter than she is with this brainless dumb-***!

wow,what a jerk! you should confront him and figure out whats really going on. get some evidence and proof and show everyone who thinks he's SO awsome,that he's really a fake jerk! dont let him get away with it. find away to make him feel so dumb and you feel like,a hero! FIND A WAY! i really hoped this helped,i've had a similiar sittuation and i got evidence and he looked soo stupid and yes i looked like a hero.you just have to get the right proof. GOOOOD LUCK!!
