Sounds like you bought it through one of the 'low priced' on-line retailers. They offer the best price on the body, then sell you a load of overpriced accessories to make up the difference. Usually- the deal in the end is fair... but only if you really wanted all of those things. And- in most cases, you don't get the 'best' accessories. For instance- instead of the regular (cheap- but not terrible) Canon kit lens, you got two Sigma lenses. Now- Sigma does make some good lenses- but these aren't their best. And- to get to a decent 28mm (in 35mm effective) wide angle, you'll need to use that wide angle converter they sold you. A cheap converter on a mediocre lens is certainly going to cost you a bit of image quality- and, it's bulkier.

Depending on where you bought it- they probably wouldn't have sold you the camera UNLESS you bought all the cheap, overpriced accessories.

sorry for the bad news...
but- you got lotsa' stuff. Enjoy your new camera. It's a fine instrument. After you spend some time with it- you may want to investigate other lenses that may meet your needs better.

It's ok depending on the quality of the items supplied. Might be a great deal. Send us the website and we can give a more accurate appraisal.

Usually it's wiser to buy just the camera from a reputable firm (like BHPHOTOVIDEO or AMAZON). Then buy the highest quality lenses you can. Sometimes they will cost as much as the camera, but they make or break the photographs you'll take (or miss).

Yes, you need a spare battery and maybe a memory chip or two. Tripods are very individual, I would go try them out first.

I agree 100% with Morey. You're getting an okay price for the whole package but the extra items are... well, cheap. (The XTi itself is a wonderful camera.)
As for the battery, you can take hundreds of shots on a single charge. You were right not to order a spare straight away.
