First, find contemporary evidence of Jesus' existence please. The Romans and Jews of the time were extremely methodical in their recording of events (such as public executions), and neither mention Jesus at all.

He only appears in works written by followers that were born after his death.

...The evidence is written in a Book that has gone unchanged in over 2000 years... every "jack'hammer'head" who has try'd to challenge it has failed... The "eye" witnesses were in the hundreds... Men changed their lives because of it... openly lay'd down their lives because of His Resurrection.
First... get a good translation of Gods Word... (not the King James version...I don't speak King James English...it's nice and all but it's not the way I talk)... N.I.V. or New American Standard or The Good News translation... go to the Book of John... read it... then go to Blockbuster and rent the movie, The Book of John... it will help you to understand what "this" is all about... I'm not talking about "religion"...I'm trying to bring solid FACTS and education to you, so you can review all the evidence and decide for yourself... There is an interesting "quotation" made by one of Jesus's Disciples after the Resurrection... The Disciple was "Thomas"... he was always in doubt of everything...(hence the nick-name, doubting Thomas)... anyhow... Thomas is with "others" being told that Jesus has arisen and was alive... Thomas, right to form says... "until I put my fingers in the holes in his wrists and my hand in the gash on His side, I will not believe"...read the Book of John, Chapter. 20 vs.24 thru vs. 30 see what this "eye" witness now has to say... great reading...

The disciples all changed their personality and Paul went to different countries to preach. So, they were all excited about something but no physical evidence shows there was even a Jesus. The Gnostics believed he was a metaphor.

No more evidence than that of the rebirth of mithras or at least half a dozen other god-men that died and un-died before jesus.

If you are talking about being Jesus being born again---this is a heresy. If you are talking about Jesus being reborn in another time or appearing in another time and place, this is Mormonism, which is also a heresy. There is nothing biblical about the rebirth of Jesus. Resurrection is not rebirth.
