I've read other threads here that address somewhat the same situation, and for all those who posted that a neutered male will no longer be "interesed" in breeding, forget it! He IS and he CAN.

Does anyone know if he can still get her pregnant?

He's 9 years old and was neutered years and years ago. He has no testicles, but he did connect! (more than once).

I didn't bother to spay the new female because I live rural and my two neutered dogs are the only ones around. Thanks for all the good answers. (except the one that said she could still get pregnant.....I hope you're wrong)

he can't get her preggers, he doesn't have the proper equiptment to do so. it is nature that when he senses a female in heat he will hump, basically he is shooting blanks.

Neutered males can still "mate" with a female, but they can NOT get a female pregnant. Also "humping" is not just a sexual issue but also a dominance issue. A neutered male often times will feel more dominant over a female in heat especially if there are other dogs around neutered or not.

As for leaving your female intact...don't. She is at a very high risk for mamamry cancer and pyometria a very serious often fatal uterine infection. The longer she is left intact the greater her risk.

Of course he can't, that's why he was neutered! His testicles have been removed so it is impossible. Neutering dogs doesn't stop them from becoming randy however, as you've just discovered!

Please also get the female spayed - this is even more important health wise than even with female cats, or male dogs and cats. Older unspayed female dogs are very likely to get mammary tumours or pyometra, and these are potentially fatal, EXPENSIVE diseases! Do her a favour and get her sorted.

HAHA I laugh at the people who think a nuetered male will never be interested in breeding. They can and some still do have an interest in breeding. I have a nuetered male (nuetered at 18 months old) who still loves the girls. He's almost 7 now and he is still very interested (when the girls are in heat). However you will not now or ever have puppies from him. He doesn't have the tissue that produces sperm therefore no puppies.

Each time I have gotten one of my males neutered, I was told that he could, possibly, still breed for up to six months after the surgery. I have only had one that was interested in mating after neutering, but he was frustrated because his equipment no longer worked!

An unspayed female in heat will attract other males in the area. Male dogs will jump fences to get to an female in heat. No, your male may still have the urge to hump your female, but without his testicles, he cannot in-pregnant your female.

How long ago was he neutered? No he can not get her pregnant and yes he will still be interested to a degree.

Yes they are still interested. My daughter called one of my dogs Mr Nasty forever. We found an pure husky in heat running the street. He did attach and quite proud of himself and he was neutered and 10 weeks after he survived parvo

You just think he's been neutered! There must have been some part over looked during surgery. No way will a completely neutered male dog be interested again! Some other sneaky pooch put it to her if in fact she is pregnant!

I would say that the vet made a mistake! plus if you neuter after a certain age he does stay interested.
