Careful... they're going to complain about that "homo sapien" thing... many don't consider us "animals", if you can believe that.

If you read through Genesis ( and throughout the Bible) , humans were the only creation created in God's image with body,soul, and spirit. The Bible does talk about "the Lion laying down with the Lamb"in heaven so, sure there are going to be animals. As far as animals that are here....there's no proof they will be but they DON"T have a soul. (there's only proof of those with souls)
Goliath WAS a human by the way, so yes, he is in one of the two places. Homo Erectus is defined as an upright human being so they ARE human as well. Hobbits are ficticous characters.

according to christian belief's only the soul of an individual will end up in heaven or hell. Granted it is also taught that in heaven there will be a reuniting of the soul with a new body after what some call the Resurrection of the dead. The Christian would say Goliath and the others will not be there because Goliath was considered a sinner.

I think it's just petty to think we are the only animals to have an afterlife, or a soul for that matter, people think divinity resembles human form, which I believe is out of preference for it to be that way more than anything.

Good question, if you go to heaven you may want to be with your pets,cows,chikens or goats...but if they cant go to heaven what is the point. Why are farmers religous if animals cant go to heaven ? So they must be able to somehow. But people who dont like animals who go to heaven wouldnt want them there so they must not be able to go...
I'm confused now..not... there is no heaven.
