If you are hungry enough, everything & anything appeal.
You can always phone a take out shop with delivery service. Or stock up a few of the things you do like in your cupboard for such emergencies.

Hi!
When I'm in that kind of mood I usually find the fish fingers at the bottom of the freezer, so I get these out and make fish finger butties.
It must be on white, fresh bread with a small amount of bbq sauce!
Delicious!!
Then if I fancy something for 'afters' I'll get meringue shells and put a smidgeon of strawberry jam on them - with a cup of tea these are to die for!!
Try all of the above - you'll LOVE 'em!!

In that case, I come out of kitchen because I will have realised by then that I didn't need to eat at all !! False hunger/craving signals going to brain!!
Because when you really need something to eat, anything works.
This has happened with me always and the remedy works. After a few moments you know what you wanted to eat!!!

I often find the more food there is to eat
The more i think
"god there's nothing here that i want"
When i was young and broke
I was grateful to have a packet of biscuits in the cupboard
now i have alot of food
I am just ungrateful.
Like the first answer
I usually spoil myself with a take away.

If I find nothing appealing to me in my kitchen to snack or eat then I go and drink myself pints of water till I feel bloated. Then go out, jump onboard a bus & go on a mystery tour till I see something I like or fancy checking out.

I call this the hungry caterpillar syndrome. You search and search and nothing quite is what you want. To avoid eating something that not only doesn't satisfy you but that you will regret later, try eating an orange. Something within the citrus that settles your taste buds(and your stomach) enough to give you clarity about what you really want to eat.

well I've always got bags of unsalted cashew nuts, brazil nuts and dried cranberries in the cupboards so I try to munch on these first and then the fruit in the bowl. However, if there's chocolate anywhere in the house, even hidden, I can find it and wolf it down within seconds!

If I don't have a taste for anything, I just won't eat. I figure God's trying to tell me something. LOL.
Sometimes I'll grab a cup of tea and by the time I'm finished, I'll have a craving for something I just saw in the cupboards.
