Please. =P The first one.
Far less expensive and far more romantic... in my opinion, at least.
Besides, I am in no way posh!! Lol.
Good question =)

Ah the thought of the fresh green field is perfect, as long as there are no big bumbly bees or nasty wasps. I get all flustered in posh restaurants just because I hate eating whilst being watched. Its ok if you drop half a sarnie down your top in a picnic innit

Definitely the picnic.
I remember on particularly nice one in Bath for my wife's birthday. As we set up the picnic we realised there was an open-air performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream just about to start.
Champagne and Shakespeare! Perfect!

Well, you can do the bare foot picnic anytime but dinner in a posh restaurant... that offer might not always be there, so go for that one.

Could i have both??
I would probably feel more comfortable with the picnic option but sometimes its nice to put your best shoes on and go to a fancy restaurant.

bare foot either in a field or on a isolated beach (with the picnic of course) you can still have fine food and fine wine !!! and the setting is so much more !!

I would prefer a ploughman's in a soft green flowery field any day. Much more relaxing.
