Yes. He is ignorant and has the right to be at this point in his career. He is a very talented fighter who can slug it out or box with you. He has a rare combination of speed and power. I think that Mayweather is making a mistake by taunting on Oscar too much. Oscar is no walk in the park against Mayweather. I think that he should only say those things when he is certain that he can back it up in the ring.

It's show time folks, and Smitty gets a thumbs up from the blogbaba. When the bell rings, the talking usally stops. On May 5th we will learn a thing or two about both fighters. The blogbaba has never listened to much of the hype, after watching Ali's career, it's all old news. Ali was the master, the rest just weak copies.

No, he is not ignorant. For those of you who don't know about politics and playing to the public, allow me to educate you. Yes, there are times when Floyd can come off as whiny and unappreciative but the fact of the matter is that Golden Boy Promotions has every intention of trying to sell Oscar as the good guy and Floyd as the bad guy. It helps sell Oscar to the public as the adorable underdog and Floyd as the cocky flamboyant spoiled brat who needs a whupping. It's business. If you heard the one press conference where Floyd acted very professional and gracious, that is how he really is. He has many powerful and influential friends (not just music types either, some are NBA superstars and others actors, etc) and he didn't get that way by just being a jerk. He is supremely talented and if that type of bad guy image is what sells tickets then that is what they do, sell that persona. Oscar is not the nicest guy in the world, and if you dont believe me, believe other businessmen who have dealt with him. His nice guy routine is good for his image but not exactly sincere. In Hollywood you see it all the time. Cameron Diaz, for example, comes across very nice on camera, but offscreen she hates the public and is very rude. Many others are the same way. They do whatever it takes to sell themselves. Floyd is not ignorant by any means, and he is much nicer in real life than you have been led to believe.
p.s. Boxers say lots of things they dont mean leading up to a bout. In case ya havent heard its called building the hype.
p.s.s. And as for not beating anyone worth mentioning: Jose Luis Castillo, Jesus Chavez, Carlos Hernandez, Diego Corrales, Genaro Hernandez, Sharmba Mitchell, Zab Judah, Arturo Gatti, Carlos Baldomir, DeMarcus Corley and Goyo Vargas. Know what they have in common? Not just victims but ALL were past or present WORLD CHAMPIONS when Floyd beat them. Not worth mentioning. HA!

First, De La Hoya is the most over-rated boxer EVER. And I think your confusing ignorance w/ being conceded. He is P4P the best right now and he knows it. And Mosely sucks too.

He may be ignorant. I'm not sure if that really applies here though. Tell me how many boxers dont put down others to bring themselves up?

IT IS CALLED HYPE/BALLYHOO. ALI STARTED THIS AFTER HE COPIED THIS PROMOTIONAL PLOY FROM GORGEOUS GEORGE. GET PEOPLE TO PAY TO SEE U LOSE.
ALI SAID WORST THAN THAT OF HIS OPPONENTS. SO DID JACK JOHNSON, HOLMES, CAMACHO AND OTHERS. DURAN TALKED ABOUT LEONARD LIKE A DOG BEFORE THERE FIRST FIGHT. BONAVENA CALLED ALI A MARICON (HOMO)

P.S. PLEASE PEOPLE GET A GRIP AND LEARN SOMETHING ABOUT THE HISTORY OF BOXING.
