I found this plant in our woods. It is about 2 to 3 inches off the ground and it has 5 or 6 relatively large leafs for the size of the plant. It sort of remains me of a umbrella shape shamrock. Any clues what it is?

It is sometimes called the umbrella plant, so you gave a good description.
