Here are the ingredients:
Kibbles 'n Bits - Original

Ingredients:
Corn, soybean meal, ground wheat, beef & bone meal, animal fat (BHA and citric acid used as preservatives), corn syrup, wheat middlings, water sufficient for processing, animal digest (source of chicken flavor), propylene glycol, wheat, salt, hydrochloric acid, potassium chloride, caramel color, sorbic acid (used as a preservative), sodium carbonate, choline chloride, minerals (ferrous sulfate, zinc oxide, manganous oxide, copper sulfate, calcium iodate, sodium selenite), vitamins (vitamin E supplement, niacin supplement, vitamin A supplement, d-calcium pantothenate, riboflavin supplement, pyridoxine hydrochloride, thiamine mononitrate, vitamin D3 supplement, folic acid, biotin, vitamin B12 supplement), calcium sulfate, titanium dioxide, yellow 5, red 40, yellow 6, BHA (used as a preservative), dl-methionine

This wouldn't cause worms, but nonetheless this is not a healthy food. Corn isn't good for dogs. Animal fat? Corn syrup? Dogs don't need that. Encourage your mom to buy a better food. Iams can be bought at the grocery store and is a fairly good product.

Here's some information of preventing whipworms:
How do we prevent and control whipworm infections?

Whipworm eggs are somewhat susceptible to drying, but can remain alive in moist soil for years, and are resistant to freezing. Because of this, animals should be restricted from contaminated areas. There is no effective method for killing whipworm eggs in the soil. The only alternative is to replace the soil with new soil, gravel, and pavement. To prevent exposure, any feces in the yard should be picked up on a daily basis.

Floors in kennels and dog runs should be impervious so they are easier to clean. Kennels, runs, and litter boxes should be cleaned thoroughly, and if possible, be allowed to dry in direct sunlight.

Routine fecal examinations and wormings can help control this widespread parasite.

Because of the zoonotic potential of T. vulpis, care should be taken when cleaning, and people should wear gloves and wash their hands well after these duties.

No dog foods do not give dogs worms. The dogs are picking it up outside from the ground. Also they may never have gotten rid of them in the first place.

It is usual to deworm and then wait 2 weeks and have another fecal done to see if eggs are stil lpresent if it is a repeat needs ot be done.
Also if your mom is using OTC products she needs to stop. They are ineffective and can be dangerous. She needs to make sure to get proper diagnosis and medications from a vet and to do follow ups. She also needs to keep poop picked up out of her yard.

As for Kibbles & Bits it won't cause worms but it is a very poor quality food.

Good quality foods should'nt give your moms dog's worms. Dont feed it kibbles n bits. It must be a bad brand of dog food. If they are regularly de-wormed, check that their medications are given at the proper time each month.

Dogs go wild over Kibbles 'n Bits. Of course they do! Look at the ingredients - fat and sugar - and a whole bunch of fillers that the dog can't digest anyway. You might as well give them a steady diet of McDonald's.

There has to be another angle you are missing. Food does not cause whip worm. However; whip worm can be highly contagious if she is taking him to the petstore or dog park.

Whipworm is found throughout the world, especially in countries with warm, humid climates. The main risk factor for infection is swallowing soil contaminated with feces. Some outbreaks have been traced to contaminated vegetables (due to presumed soil contamination).

i would just stop giving it kibbles - n - bits. its not the healthiest of foods anyways....

yes, but mostly canned dog food. It's not very good for the dog he only eats soft dog food. Something that i do that's not harm full to my dog, i pour a little bit of beef broth in his dry food and he goes crazy for it.
