is it a compliment when someone said that you look like you're 12 when you're 16?

does it mean i age slower than the rest of my friends?

I have the same problem...it depends on how you look at it. When I was younger it was a kind of a pain, and even now its a bother sometimes. I'm one of the oldest out of my circle of friends (only one girl is older than me by 3 weeks) and if we go out I used to be the only one getting ID'd.

If someone says this sarcastically you can always say what I say "Yes that may be true now, but when I'm 40 and look like I'm 25, without surgical help, I won't be the one complaining." This usually shuts them up.

It's not an insult... I'm 17 and my sister jokes about be looking like I could be 12 (but let's face it, I couldn't pass for 12.. well, maybe, but an older looking 12 year old hahaa).

it just means you have a babyface, your features are timeless. It could also mean you just have some baby fat in your face, making it not look old. Take it as a compliment. Being told you look 25 at 16 is an insult.

belive me, it is a compliment. It means you age gracfully. I was often carted when buying alcohol and I was 24-26 yrs old at the time! it may take a few years before you can really appreciate the compliment fully, but you will!! congrats, young and beautiful!!
by the way, i am now 34 and people continue to think i am only 26-28 yrs old. how is that for fun!?

No, it means that you just look young for your age. Don't worry, I used to be offended by people thinking I was much younger than I was. Of course, I'm 35 years old and still get carded, so the offense does wear off. Enjoy your youthful appearance as there are many people out there paying thousands of dollars just to have a glimpse of what you have. Thank you and may GOD bless.

yes i think it is i am only 14 and people say i look like am 12 (i need id to get into a 12 :( )
that can be the down side however its good why would you want to look older than you are? it is sort of fun because i can get away with wearing some childrens clothes and lots of pink although it is a bit annoying when dinnerladies in school won't let me go down for my dinner yet becuase year sevens are the last to get down :(

I also experience what you have gone through. When i'm 30 yrs old, some strangers say I look 25 years old. So I usually just smile and take it as a compliment.

So need not be bothered with all comments. Welcome them with open arms. Your heart always feel young is most important.

i dont think its a compliment becauase you dont want to look 12 do you? its a compliment when you say a 35 year old looks like a 20 year old! but if you age slower than you your friends it will be a good thing when your 35 and you look 20!

It mostly just means your baby fat isn't completely gone. It doesn't mean you age slower. So, whether this is a good or a bad thing, you'll look about your age after you reach your mid-twenties. I used to have the same problem, but, unfortunately, my voice has never changed since I was ten, so concider yourself lucky!

I get this alllll the time, i can't stand it. I'm 22 and people have asked me "are you sure you're old enough to be working here" and I think this is rediculous and really demeaning. I get angry, hopefully it wears off. I don't think it is a compliment. PEOPLE think before you speak!!!

Its a good thing.Because when you are Older you will still look younger.I am 21,and everyone thinks im 19..i take it as a Compliment.Enjoy it while it lasts.Its better to look younger than Older.
