That's a great question. We've gotten some excuses from the religious among us about people not believing anyway, due to the arrogance on non-believers. I have an answer to that.

If god is omnipotent (all powerful) and omniscient (all knowing) as the believers claim, then he would know exactly what evidence would satisfy each and every non-believer on earth on an individual basis, and he would have the means to instantly provide that evidence to all of them. He could do all of this with a single thought, and the entire world would instantaneously be christian.

Either he isn't real, or he really enjoys watching us fight and argue amongst ourselves. I would say that the former is the most likely reason.

He's still shopping around for an agent. I heard he might be getting a comeback show on vh1. Where he tries to restore his glory days of the Torah and new testament. Still suing Muhammed for the Q'uran but ya know how those things get tied up in court.
I like all you people that say we wouldn't believe him if he did. Their's not one atheist/agnostic that wouldn't worship him this very second if he were real. Just show us a couple tricks tell us how the universe was created. And we will be worshiping him from that day forward. But until we see some proof besides a crazy murderer putting a book together. And then a supposed son of god that knew very little about the universe as we know it. I will make as many corny jokes about your stupid god as I can.

Many people didn't believe when God walked the earth in the form of Jesus. What makes you think a press conference would change things today?

You either have faith or don't. Even the miracles in the Bible that were performed in front of many people did not convince everyone.

If God appeared again, there would still be those who would doubt.

I'll bet you found that on a t-shirt or bumper sticker somewhere. I guess it would make sense...if God were one of us. Just a slob like one of us. dah dah dah dah dah dah dah (groan) I guess that is what passes for "deep" nowadays. Pop philosophy? What a sad concept.

And as I thought, NOT an original idea...The Democratic Underground, The BeastBlog, The Boston Globe, Carol Bugee and The Onion (among many many many others) have been there first.

Why not he ate and wrestled with old testement characters, haggled with lot -50 just down to 25 just to spare Sodom. What is so special about back then that he can't step out of the great beyond and give us a chat like in the good ole bronze age days?

Imagine if you would a child playing hide and seek. It is the child's turn to "seek". First the child puts on dark glasses, then stuffs an earplugs in each ear, than a paper bag over his head, then goes into a closet and closes the door and yells, "where are you, I can't see you".

God has done and continues to do all he can to be real to you and me. "I stand at the door and knock" is the biblical quote. Not sitting and waiting, standing and actively knocking.

You have to open the door, pull off the bag, unplug your ears and unshade your eyes. He is already there.

He has already been here once and did plenty of miracles but all it did was make some people angry and jealous. So why call a press conference many still wont believe. He will be making a come back very soon. Even then many will still not believe its called arrogance. Peace out..............

God did call a press conference, but when you were the only person that showed up, you apparently thought he didn't exist. Go back and ask her what you need to know.

It is much easier to find God at the core of your being than it is to find him at the edge of the universe.

Here's the best answer I've ever found; it's at
http:www.MusingsAboutGod.com
it's the first article there "The Truth About God",
it's way too long to post here (nobody likes a long post) but I think it's worth the time.

Because men told God to keep Her mouth shut, so, whatever...
It is them that have seperated themselves from God, and they refuse to turn, and do good. That is why men are all sinning, yes indeed. Many will run to and fro, and try to figure out the mystery, but they will not be able to. They are to in love with themselves, religiously speaking, of course. Seriously.
