Stop worrying about how he is going to react and get on with your life! I think you're the one who may be worrying about the broken heart and you dont need help if you would just wake up and move on.

Simple solution...to a not so simple sounding solution...move to Texas....call each other everyday for the first 2 weeks... after the first week, mention how you've been really tired in class or at work and you need to start going to bed at a decent hour so you won't be accepting his calls say after 8 pm....then during the second week bring up an issue that your job or you got a job that is keeping you busy like crazy... or your studying like crazy for a grant or something....then at the end of the third week tell him that you feel as if your not able to give him the time he or you need to have a relationship that's long distance at the moment and maybe we can chill and try to be friends and keep the lines of communication open....you see...keep everything happy go lucky up until the move.... keep calling and accepting his call sounding happy... but then put the blame on your job or schooling... and let "time" be the issue not your dating or being interested in someone else... that way when you break up it'll be on good terms while leaving the door open if Texas doesn't turn out good for you.... It can work....try it before you do the cold turkey move on him.

you have to bite the bullet.
There is no easy way to tell someone goodbye especially after two years. Tell him you love him and that you need to go and you wish him the best.

You will break his heart, but as yourself, who are you living for? you or your b/f's feelings. Just tell him the truth, and don't part scenes fighting, tell him you want to end on a good note.

Be completely honest with him about how you feel, and why you're doing this. He won't have to wonder why, and wonder what you're doing. The truth hurts, but it hurts more when it's been covered up. He needs to see the whole picture all at once, and then he has to take his own time to process it and work past it.

Well, I think it's possible to keep a long distance relationship, but if that's not what you want than tell him you think it's best you guys don't see each other anymore because you don't think you can handle a long distance relationship. You're sorry and you can still be friends. (If you want to.)
