I myself have a lot of respect for young people who are trying to cling to a decent and pure existance.
Many of the young boys and girls that I work with in our community programs I believe will make fine, honorable citizens one day.
Shouldn't we help guide them away from the "polutions" of the world?

Chibi,
Thanks, of course, I don't mean INSTEAD of what you are suggesting.
I believe, if we lift up these young people, it can help inspire other youngsters who are having problems.
We should "honor" those that show True virtue.
Doesn't the "world" honor it's own?

Cesear'swife,
Oh God. Here's jet another one confused about "judging". Misusing what she she doesn't believe.
We MUST judge. You just don't understand the context.
Is THIS what you're refering to:
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye" (Matthew 7:1-5)
Our Lord is saying, "WHEN you judge; REMEMBER you are also going to be judged; so get YOUR life in order". that's why He said "then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye".
We MUST judge, to discern right from wrong.

JoJo,
Sex is NOT bad. Sex is great. It is a wonderful gift from God. Ther is NO doubt about it.
But, it is designed by the Creator to be confined to marriage (that God's law; Jesus affirmed it here on earth). I have to tell the Truth of God. You are free to speak for the world.
I can't speak for and people who "profess" to be Christian who have something to say about your Harry Potter or your Teletubbies. You lump them all together with True Christians. God lumps them together with the non.believer. I tend to go with God.

Why don't you really take a look at the fowl, disrespectful, cynical, nasty questions your people ask on here. Look at some of their answers. Yeah, that programme always works. Ever hear of "MInister's Daughter Syndrome"?
Actually, you haven't explained what you mean by "Godly virtue" or "a decent and pure existence," but I assume that translates to "NO SEX" as usual. And I'm sorry, but that sort of approach just doesn't work. Girls who sign "virginity pledges," e.g., are several times more likely to engage in premarital oral and anal sex. Forbidding something merely draws attention to it and makes it "sexy." Isn't that the oldest story in the bible? When I hear "Let's keep them away from this stuff," I just think you're deluding yourself. The best approach is to be as open and honest about everything as possible, and to get over the idea that sex is inherently evil and corrupting. You can't even accurately discuss the real dangers of sex, which are valid enough points to bring up with young people, if you're beginning with the obviously hypocritical stance that there's something "wrong" with sex in the abstract.
"Christians" tend to think life is all about "avoiding temptation," but if you ask me, that merely suggests that their "morality" is weak and artificial. If one is truly moral, one has nothing to fear from being exposed to "pollutions of the world." When the Christians are boycotting Harry Potter and the Teletubbies because of their "corrupting influence," I take that as a measure of the weakness of their "faith."

Yes we should. We know those spirit children who were most valiant are saved for these latter days...we need the most righteous on the earth because of the closeness of the Second Coming.
I am a Young Women leader - girls age 12-13 - and I am impressed and awed even by those young of girls, and all the young women we have in our ward, at how strong their testimonies already are and how wonderful they are. I know with all my heart God our Heavenly Father puts His children where they need to be, in what family, and at what time. I know that.
And yes, we should help them, in any way we can...we must be examples.
I love the gospel and I love my Savior Jesus Christ.
Thank you for your question.

What is "Godly" virtue, and who are you to judge?
I know many people who are decent, law abiding citizens (including my own children) who are fine and honourable citizens. They have stood on their own two feet, looked at the "pollutions" of this world and decided to walk away from them. They have their reward.
How would you expect to help them?
I must add that I am fairly religious, but I think you disrespect people who aren't. You don't have to be religious to have values. And you still don't say how you want to "help" them.
But YOU are judging! And you are judging that those who have virtue are so because they are "Godly". Which leaves out most of the kids of today who actually don't do drugs, aren't promiscous or drink or steal, lie or cheat, do violence, etc etc. It is your language here that is at fault. And your presumption that they need help.
It is the children who have not been taught these values that need your help. The rest have their own rewards - a life that is much easier. And good for them for making wise choices. But look around you at those people who are enmeshed in the pollution of the world. And pity them and show compassion, because that is something that is foreign to them.

I believe we should all honor each other as human beings. Young people, as we all are, are living in a world filled with hate, and flippant attitudes towards everything.
It's not wrong to uphold young people who are trying to live a decent, pure life. We should all bouy up each other to help us live together in peace and harmony. I fear though, that the days of peace are but a memory.

Most definitely! Especially in today's world where it is acceptable to do pretty much everything!
It's so hard to do, we need to give them all the patient, loving guidance we can and that is best done by example!
We should show hope and respect for the ones who are struggling today too.!
The older I get the more I respect everyone regardless of age who uphold righteous and noble standards in spite of today's media and crumbling morals.
As you say...Honor the virtuous...Particularly the YOUNG ONES.
