Then stab his hand with a fork when he tries to take something off of your plate.

It is rude, but incredibly common.
I'm reminded of an episode of "Friends", when Joey was going out with a girl he really liked, except she kept eating his fries. He ended up buying a side of fries for them to "share", then she reached over and got something else off his plate.
Eventually he ended up never dating her again because he went berserk.
If you've dated the guy long enough to feel comfortable saying it (and you should, since he feels comfortable taking your food), tell him it annoys you that he does it every time. He probably doesn't think you would care.

Just get a small side plate and put some on it even if he says he doesn't want it. Say you are doing it so he can avoid eating off your dish, let him know this is something you'd rather not have him do.

it might be that the idea of sharing your food is appeling, plenty of times my partner has been eating, asked if i wanted some ( like an ice cream or something), and i'd say no, im not hungry, but whilst cuddeling i'd try tasting whatever he's eating, just for the warm fuzzy feeling you get sharing something with someone you care about ^^

Well just tell him it drives you nuts. He'll either stop, or he will keep doing it and then you will have to get used to it, or stop seeing him if it bothers you that much. My husband drinks out of my glass at home all the time, which I find gross. After yelling at him for many years, I have given up trying to get him to stop, because it hasn't done any good. Now I just get myself a new glass. But I use his toothbrush to clean the bathroom sink sometimes just to get even.

I think that's cute, if it's my boyfriend who I'm very close to obviously, I don't see anything wrong with him eating off my plate. My friends and I even do it.

He eats off your plate because you let him.
If you ask him not to, he will stop. Make sure you tell him in an "I" statement, like, "I get embarrassed / upset / bothered when you . . . . "
If he doesn't stop, you then know how considerate he is.
Good luck!
