How many of these retarded questions are we going to see.

I have a question for each of you.

Liberals: Conservatives are insane and they usually have Jesus on the brain 24/7. They will never listen to you because they think you will get them sent to hell. Why keep trying?

Conservatives: Liberals really enjoy freedom from your religion. It gets them sex and attention to throw the bible in your face. They are fairly normal. Why try to make them out to be so wicked and stupid, when they aren't? Jesus didn't say to do that.

Atheists: No matter what question you ask, the Christians are still gonna follow Christ. Simply put, he was a better man than you, or a demi-god, whichever. GIVE UP. Why keep posting?

Christians: Guys... really... don't argue with the atheists, they are smarter than you 9 times out of 10. If you have nothing but faith to argue with, then just shut up. Science and logic can be used to support the bible too, but why keep trying if you can't?

By the way, I am a Christian myself, but, I get my information from the book itself rather than moronic pastors with retard-o beliefs.

I've also got a 4 year degree from a college of science, so, I can spit evolution with the best of them.

I edited this because of the claims that I was slanted against christian conservatives.

After scanning through piles of open questions from the far left and the far right, it is refreshing to find a moderate viewpoint.

I hope that you and others like yourself will be able to "take back" Yahoo! Answers before it becomes another AM radio hate-baiting wasteland.

To be fair - completely fair, most of the rancor seems to be coming from the "Neocon" camp. I'll bet they're the ones who paint their faces at ball games. After all, life's a big game for those who have enough to begin with. Part of this game is baiting so called "liberals" by insulting them. Wonder why that is? Are they keeping track? There is no meaningful dialog in these posts, just hate, hurt, and sore losing.

The Left camp is not much better, a large contingent mirroring the bashing on the other side. I'm not sure all of these are real, and if they are, they might be recent converts after the polls showed them who was winning. In many cases, the pent-up rage is showing through an academic veneer, which only hurts their cause.

Once an atheist, I adopted Christianity for the comfort and direction it brought me. Its core philosophy was right for the times and is still relevant today. Sure, I know this will alienate many groups, but it's OK to be honest. At least it should be in a public forum.

My first love is science, and while it's a little thin on answers to humanity's great questions, it holds more promise for our future.

Religion was once a new thing, and needs to learn from this fact. Repeating traditional behavior ad infinitum will not save us, but keeping an open mind will.

All progress requires change, and sometimes it does take the fear of God to change us, which is what my atheist friends must learn. If nobody is watching us, we are in a lot more trouble than we think, because though the abolition of guilt may set us free, there are those whose freedom we must fear.

Kudos to all who weighed in here. Moderate dialogue may be less titillating, but it's likely to be the only way we'll come away more enlightened than we went in.

Liked James answer best because of its openness and honesty.

Great question too and the stereo-types are so on target. Everybody's become an attorney and might makes right. Why do we have this need to always automatically defend our positions?

So often we speak from heads and not from our hearts or from our souls. We 'listen' to each other without really hearing. Is that what makes "the way narrow"?

the only answer is to stop, rising to the bait, that makes us sound like a bunch of fish doesn't it?

but some of them are just too tempting, i try to pass over them, but once in a while they just reel me in, even though, i am doing better, if we do not fight then maybe they will get tired of every body agreeing with them.

by the was I liked you statement about the pastors, some of them are good, but too many are so young they have not developed a rapport with Jesus, and the other have been in the way so long that they have become hardened.

Your right about this point bro. Faith and reason must go hand in hand to help convince an atheist. They tend not to be to keen on straight scripture or straight church teachings unless there is an underlining logical explanation. Unfortunately most people are not expert at apologetics that link reason with faith. It is there like you said, but requires research etc. and faith!

God bless you

How about a Christian liberal who does NOT interpret the Bible literally and accepts science and logic?

That's me, and I hate generalizations just because I'm a Christian, or a liberal, or a woman, etc., etc.

I am a Christian, and I am proud of it. my Father and my Brother Jesus cared enough for me that I will miss Satan's Hell. God the Holy Ghost keeps me holy or clean. Can you claim such? I am proud of my Father, My brother, and thankful I have the Holy Spirit living in me.

Hmmm, I wonder which slant you take. Sounds like you are condescending to Christians and Conservatives. Try again with no bias. Thanks! Blessings in the Light of Christ!

I'm just tired of people who think that their world view is absolutely correct and should be held universally.

If someone is just MISERABLE with their life, I may try to convert them to my way of thinking IF I think it'll make them less miserable.

But if they're happy and willing to live and let live with me having my own opinions, I let them be.

Why is it that I'm in the minority on this?
