of themselves and their precious gift of life from God. However, you all say that fat people can be Christians, eventhough they sin. Well, I am told because I am gay, I am not Christian. Even if you look at gay as sin...How one sinner be saved and another not be?

Basically, John 3:16 says all sins are the same...whosoever believeth in me...it doesn't say, whosoever, except the homosexuals, etc...

While you can quote scriptures, so can other scholars who may have a different interpretation...why do you think you are right...are you God?

Galatians 3:28...for there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave or free, male or female, in Christ, we are one...therefore, God cannot see us as male or female...must not be able to see us as straight or gay

We can throw scriptures around all day...The apostle Paul also writes in Romans about the subjective role of women...not speaking up in church, etc...should we honor these words as literal?

What about Galatians 3:28 ...for there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave or free, male or female, in Christ, we are one...if God doesn't see as male or female, he cannot see us as gay or straight.

Why can't you accept the fact...that I am gay and Christian? There is no doubt in my mind that I am going to heaven when I die...I will look for you there too!

#1 Gluttony is wrong, but it is not classified anywhere as a sin, except maybe in the Catholic church. I was 220lbs a couple of years ago and wanted to do something about it but I was not obese. For my age, I was typical.
I finally got the doctor to recommend a diet plan and he said, 'South Beach Diet'. I have been on that diet and dropped to 196lbs. It has to do with keeping your Insulin pump shut down.
However those who are obese, are dependent on food and need help to turn their focus around, but that does not make them a bad Christian, it makes them a bad eater. Many eat no more than I do, but they eat the wrong things. They eat foods filled with bad carbs, like bread, potatoes, pasta, white rice, etc.

#2 Homosexuality is called an abomination in scripture. That is a gross sin. However a person can be a homosexual and still be a Christian if they do not act out their homosexuality. In other words, if they stay pure, and refrain from doing with other men what they would do with a woman, or visa-versa.
If a person is homosexual and is still engaged in homosexual activities they can call themselves Christian, but I do not expect to see anyone in heaven who continues in that lifestyle.

1Corinthians 6 says;
9 ¶ Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

I believe that 'nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind' clearly speak of homosexuality.

To those who believe all sins are the same, I challenge you to find a scripture verse that says all sins are the same, or post the question to others and ask for Biblical support only.

Now, here's the thing. Just because a person is overweight does not mean that they overeat, or don't exercise. I do aerobics three times a week, eat less than most skinny people I know, go for walks regularly, plus do housework. I am still overweight. I don't usually eat fried or greasy foods, I eat LOTS of fruits and vegetables, and drink several glasses of water a day. I take VERY good care of myself. My cholesterol is perfect, my heart and lungs are fine, and my blood pressure is normal, if not a little low.
It just so happens that being big runs in my family. The smallest ANY of us can be is a women's size 14, or men's size 36/38.
Some people who are overweight are that way because they're lazy and overeat. Others are not. And yes, it is a sin to overindulge in ANYTHING.

You can be gay and still be a Christian. I was a liar and a thief, and technically I still am. I'm also an alcoholic. Only thing is, I don't lie or steal anymore, and I rarely drink. Through my relationship with Jesus Christ, I've been set free from those things. Anyone can be.

Being overweight isn't a sin. Gluttony is a sin, but not all overweight people are gluttons and not all gluttons are overweight. As for homosexuality, 1 Corinthians 6:9 and 6:10 lists numerous groups of sinners who will not inherit the kingdom of God. Homosexuals are one of them.

However, I know two pastors who were formerly homosexual. Someone can ask forgiveness of their sins, repent (turn from them completely) and THEN inherit the kingdom of God. Which, is what John 3:16 refers to. It doesn't mean you become Christian and all of a sudden it's ok to stay gay. You're called to leave your old life behind. It's spiritual bondage just as addiction to pornography or alcohol is. Pray that God would help you overcome the sins that are keeping you from Him.

We have NOT established that gluttony and being overweight are always sins. It depends on the person. Anyone who places the pleasures of food or sex (heterosexual or homosexual) above their obedience to God obviously doesn't love Him very much; it's probable this person isn't a true Christian.

Many very godly people are overweight. Many un-godly people are of average or below average weight.

It's the person's motivations that determine this issue. You simply cannot make a sweeping statement like this.

James...who died and made "we" God. You lack of understanding of God and sin, grace, love and Christianity is horrendous. Being Gay is no excuse not to learn about something before making comments...and REAL Christians do not turn Gays away from their religion.

Hmmmm? Well, most overweight people would be willing to lose a few pounds...
There is a scripture that say's it's unwise to compare yourself to others. It's case by case with God.

unfortunately, christianity is full of hypocrisies, including this one. they often seem to pick out the points of the bible that they like or agree with, and leave behind the ones that they don't. this is why so many people leave that faith, because it just doesn't provide enough logic for them.
if you truly believe in a higher power, maybe you should seek out some religions that are inclusive to gay people that fit your ideals. www.religioustolerance.org will give you some insight. good luck

if you are gay you can still be a Christian, God still loves you, but start praying that God will change you
(sorry, I don't want to sound rude)

I struggle with Guttony and yes I can still be consider a Christian so your sin is no worse than mine.
but like I did, you have to pray for help to over come your sin.

Well some people are born that way and you are not contributing by not spreading your seed in a place that will reproduce. So you are wasting all of your seed and following your sexual desire.

Well .... put it this way, if you are a glutton, at most you will kill yourself. If you are a gay, chances are they are afraid you might be able to influence them to be a gay .... in short, homophobic. :p
