First Communion: Is there a traditional gift a godmother should give her goddaughter on her first communion?

There are special first communion books, which is what my godmother got me way back when, or check with her mom to see if she has a rosary, and get her a children's rosary. If you search for these things on Yahoo or Google you will find several merchants who sell them, and some Catholic churches also run gift stores that sell them as well.

The taking of the bread as the body of christ in remembering him was misinterpreted by the Catholic Church

The bread you are eating or taking in the communion of the catholics came from the bakery and not the body of Christ which represent. him.
