Nothing else seems to work....And pray God stretches the gas we have to be able to get to the places we need to be....Thanks.

I know some people think this is strange, but if we can't talk to God about the "small" stuff, what makes us think He can handle the big stuff?

I know unbelievers think we're crazy, but I'm thankful for a heavenly Father who cares about every need we have, even the "small stuff." Agreeing in prayer with you... :)

I am glad someone else prays about things like this too. In Down Under here the prices went up last week by 5 cents/litre -- again!.
The prices are shocking! It's greed in the world and love of money.
But on the Upside we have a God who is So Almighty and Praise His name He cares about every aspect of our lives!
He even tells us to be good stewads of our finances.
I am so glad he cares.!
Yes I'm along side you praying Jan. Thankyou for the things you show me that the Holy Spirit within me brings to the surface.
Your such a blessing and I am proud as punch to know you, Bless God.

To all the other people who gave negative results to this question, let he who has never complained about the price of fuel cast the first stone!

----------
Perhaps your prayers have been answered. I hope you're open to a creative idea. Here's an unexpected solution. Look at this car:
*
http://phoenixmotorcars.com/models/fleet.html
*
The Phoenix electric pickup truck - this completely gas-free vehicle, using new, advanced Altairnano batteries - can:

-Travel up to 250 miles per charge
-Carry 5 passengers plus cargo at 95mph.
-Charges batteries in as little as TEN MINUTES.
-Has batteries that last 250,000 miles (never need replacement.)
*
It is being manufactured right now for fleet customers like PG&E. If sales go well, it will be made available to individuals next year. Cost is $45,000 for hand-built cars, and this cost will fall considerably when factory production becomes feasible.
*
The electricity cost to drive an EV is only 1 to 2 cents per mile. I know this because I drive an electric car. Keep an eye on the Phoenix. And if you want to 'get your feet wet' in an EV without spending lots of money, it's possible to get an EV for as little as $5000. Here's a link:

Then you can SMILE as you drive past gas stations (like I do.)

I ride a Harley < $10 to fill my tank - 50 mpg

I think we need to stand on his word and pray and believe for our prosperity.

De 8:18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

2 Chr 1:12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

Psalm 112:1 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. {Praise...: Heb. Hallelujah}
2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

That's much better than praying for world peace or a cure for cancer. Such selfless dedication!

On the other hand, since there's no reason to believe that prayer actually accomplishes anything, praying for your wallet is about as effective as praying to help someone with leukemia. I guess it all washes out in the end.

I'm sure you're joking, but I've met some people who would rather rely on prayer than taking action themselves. Since those people are content with staying at home and "praying" really hard to elminate homelessness instead of actively helping the community, I would not be surprised if those people would "pray" really hard for lower gas prices instead of actually adopting alternative technology that does not consume so much petrol.

Those people are parasites on our society.

I agree with you Jan, gas jumped 10 cents here just last night. I feel fortunate to live in Iowa where the prices are relatively low.

Hmmm....well praying for the common good, if such a thing is for the common good, wouldn't hurt I don't think, but praying for a solution to energy problems that is better on the planet and better for the whole world, and not just our over consumptive country might be better?

How about praying for a congressional probe of the oil and gas industry? Or better yet, praying for stability in the middle east.

You can pray, but the answer will be NO...Why? Because God is tired of us showing such disrespect for the environment and mistreating other people over gas. He wants us to use the brains given to us and show compassion....

Maybe we should also be praying for alternatives to gas.
