These nonbelievers claim we are wasting our time worshipping God, yet here they are posting comments on religions in which they do not believe. Is this to try and create mayhem for believers? Or are they subconciously searching for answers?

The question is not your right to be here or to believe in a particular religion, the question is why are nonbelievers wasting their time arguing over something they do not believe in?

Probably because they are exercising their right of free speech like everyone else on Yahoo Answers. I see plenty of bible thumpers in the science categories trying to tell us that Jesus rode dinosaurs and that evolution is false.

We hindus believe in a God, the Father of the universe, infinite and omnipotent. But if our soul at last becomes perfect, it also must become infinite. But there is no room for two infinite unconditional beings, and hence we believe in a Personal God, and we ourselves are He. These are the three stages which every religion has taken. First we see God in the far beyond, then we come nearer to Him and give Him omnipresence so that we live in Him; and at last we recognise that we are He. The idea of an Objective God is not untrue — in fact, every idea of God, and hence every religion, is true, as each is but a different stage in the journey, the aim of which is the perfect conception of the Vedas. Hence, too, we not only tolerate, but we Hindus accept every religion, praying in the mosque of the Mohammedans, worshipping before the fire of the Zoroastrians, and kneeling before the cross of the Christians, knowing that all the religions, from the lowest fetishism to the highest absolutism, mean so many attempts of the human soul to grasp and realise the infinite, each determined by the conditions of its birth and association, and each of them marking a stage of progress. We gather all these flowers and bind them with the twine of love, making a wonderful bouquet of worship.

If I am God, then my soul is a temple of the Highest, and my every motion should be a worship — love for love's sake, duty for duty's sake, without hope of reward or fear of punishment. Thus my religion means expansion, and expansion means realisation and perception in the highest sense — no mumbling words or genuflections. Man is to become divine, realising the divine more and more from day to day in an endless progress.

some of them are actually curious, and looking for honest answers, not knee-jerk dogmatic responses.

some of them just want to get the goat of folks like yourself.

some of them feel that when they see a question on the yahoo answers home page that starts off "a question for atheists" that they are being invited to share their views and answer/ask questions in religion & spirituality...

and some people feel that organized religion is crap, and creates legions of brainwashed believers that don't actually follow the teachings of their prophets, such as "do unto others as you would have done unto you"

Why do non-believers in Science go to the science section?

I believe in God, but not Christianity. I have every right to be here. This is "Religion and Spirituality" section, not the "Christianity" section.

There is a difference between spirituality and religion. In religion you are told who God is. In spirituality you find God on your own and in your own way. I feel that we need to find our own path but if we can all reach the same destination by different means. Who am I to say...

This is for anyone to use you know. I'm interested in the history of religion but it doesn't mean i have to follow the religion. Also atheists make valid comments regarding religion. If you're so strong in your faith then that wouldn't bother you anyway.

bad boy, musn't generalise in questions.

not all atheists claim you waste your time worshipping god, thats an unfair statement, i'm atheist, i don't believe in god, but my friend does, sometimes i've wondered whether there was a god or not, but i myself end up feelign empty inside, and do to my personal circumstances, i'd never be accepted by christians anyway, despite god loving all his children.

also, to answer your main question, religion and spirituality comes under Society and culture, which means people not in this forum become exposed to the questions, and i'm unabel to resist posting in topics that display bias, atheists accusing theists, people bashing gays, people who try to force their religions on others.

respect each others beliefs and values, that in itself makes you a better person, as i'm sure god wishes the same.

It ain't going to happen, not in this life of the next, dude. Folks will not confess Jesus, no matter how many times you say it.

It's okay to have your beliefs, but to insist that everyone believe in your lovely Jewish blood God is just silly.

In case you haven't noticed, there are several other major religions which do not recognize Jesus, so who are you to say they don't belong in this part of Yahoo Answers?

Ah, newbie. Don't worry, everyone asks that question at first. And often at second, and third. Actually if you stick around you'll see it coming up several times a day. Just one of the fun little things us heathens like to trick the believers into doing - it's just so durned entertaining to answer it over and over and over again!

Open thine mind. Please.

Religions are man-made traditions, spirituality is made from God. I do not put my trust in the Words of any man, I put my trust in the Word of God.
