In your opinion is there such a thing as ultimate perfection, or is this a goal that can never be achieved.(Based on a conversation that I had with my friend last night and never got resolved)

Do according to the Beatitudes (Matt. 5): be meek, be merciful, be pure in heart, be a peacemaker... let your light shine, do not commit murder, do not commit adultery, do not resist an evil person, give to the one who ask you, Love your enemies, pray for those who persecute you... "Be perfect, therefore, as your Heavenly Father is perfect." (Matt. 5:48)

Perfection like many things is all a matter of perception.

What one person would consider to be perfection the next person would deem it not.

What do I consider ultimate perfection? The universe in which we live in. It is perfect to me but who is to say that there isn't much more out there that we have no concept over which is far better than we already have? Perfection like truth is in the eye of the beholder.

Great question by the way... :-)

In love and light

You can't have ultimate perfection as the two words mean similar things. Something that is Perfect is the Ultimate. To have ultimate perfection would suggest other forms of perfection are somehow imperfect.

'Perfection' cannot be achieved by a person, If you look towards maths or science, perfect always refers to something complete and constant, in no way influenced by forces around it. forces such as time are also 'perfect'
Humans and animals are by nature not perfect as they are not ruled completely by a constant logic but by learned morals and emotions which will always influence any decision or action.

In short you cant be perfect!

If only perfect people could get into Heaven, then none of us would ever go there—because none of us are perfect!

Even the Apostle Paul wasn't perfect; he wrote, "Not that I ... have already been made perfect, but I press on" (Philippians 3:12). Throughout the ages some of God's greatest servants have been men and women who were deeply conscious of their failures and sins, and yet God still used them. Only one person in all history was perfect—and that was our Lord Jesus, who was fully God and fully man. The Bible says, "He appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin" (1 John 3:5).

The Bible does say, however, that once we give our lives to Jesus Christ we won't stay in our old sinful ways. It says, "No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him" (1 John 3:6). Note that the emphasis here is on continually sinning, not on perfection (as one older translation seems to say).

Never forget: We aren't saved because we are perfect; we are saved solely because Jesus Christ paid the penalty for all our sins through His death on the cross. Are you trusting Him alone for your salvation? Make your personal commitment to Him today.

The ultimate perfection is the universe. The universe is perfect the way it is. Even the perceived flaws are part of the perfection. If it weren't perfect it would have ceased to exist eons ago.

by Universe I mean all beings, animate and inanimate.

When you realize who are you and who is God, and what is your eternal relationship with Him, then the perfection Begin. And promotion to the spiritual world is the ultimate perfection of human life.

No one is perfect!
If you want to know what may be perfect in the Lord's eyes...
I say that perfection is being the best you can be, even if you stumble upon your foot. Meaning that even if you have been hurt, struck down or done this to others, but you still stand up to forgive and to appreciate the better side of people in this world, the your indeed close to it. It's knowing how to overcome the fear of life and taking it upon onself to be the better one, even though you know you were the one to mess up.

God sees what we do, he knows that us, human beings live out of fear and are quite the perplexed characters, but I don't think he expects us to be Mr. and Mrs. Perfect.

God wants us to enjoy life and not shut others out that should be enjoying it, too.
