I have been invited to a wedding in May(Northern,Va) and have no idea how I should dress for the occasion. I need some choices for my man and I. He is very tall and built like WWE's Goldberg, and I am only 5`7. My mother suggested linen for he and I. Someone help

Linen might be a little too light, depending on if it's early or late May. Linen is more of a summer fabric.

If the wedding formal or informal? You can usually tell by the invitation - the more formal the invitation, the more formally you should be dressed. Is it in flowing engraved black script on a heavy cream paper with formal language? Odds are the wedding will be similarly formal. Does it cheekily ask you to come see them get hitched? Wedding guests should look for a nice casual outfit. And of course, it may tell you directly on the invitation - black tie, casual attire etc.

Think about where the wedding is set – if it's outdoors avoid anything that will get caught in the wind – you won't want a battle of wills between the wind and your modesty! Also, avoid high heeled shoes that will sink in the sand or in the grass.

Unless it's a backyard BBQ, however, you should never dress below business casual for w wedding - no jeans, no sneakers, no shorts.

For you, wear something feminine and appropriate, out of respect for your hosts. Clubwear, overtly sexy clothing (strapless, see-through, etc) doesn't belong at a wedding. If you have to ask if it's appropriate, it probably isn't. A pastel suit or soft floral dress for daytime or a little black dress for evening (after 6 p.m.) will take you almost anywhere. If you're wearing a strapless dress, bring a wrap, especially if it's a religious ceremony. Some places of worship have issues with bare shoulders.

For your boyfriend, he should wear a suit and tie - nothing too crazy. Something he might wear for an important job interview.

I think a nice black dress for you would be nice black looks good on everyone you can always find it had most stores you can go simple or as elegant as you want. For your guy I think maybe dress pants or Khakis with a white dress shirt and tie. Remember you both want to be comfortable too especially if there's dancing at the reception.

I would wear dress casual. a nice spring dress and just khakis and a nice polo style shirt for him. the wedding is at 5 so it is really not a formal wedding.
