Of course it is, I mean he/she must be a true friend if they are still willing to hang out with you.

I can not foresee any problem with that. Christians are called children of the light and if you continue to walk in the light, your athiest friend will notice that you are different. You know being a Christian means that you are Christ like, that is what it means. To have the mind of Christ and to walk in love (Agapé) that is unconditional love. The world says if you love me then I will love you. Not the love of Jesus, the height, the dept and the with is the cross. So what I suggest is that you love and accept the fact the this friend claims to be an athiest, for in his/her heart there is a void that only Jesus can fill and you know it. So it is not up to you to convert her of to change her mind, but let the Holy Spirit do it, who lives in you. You have my prayers and wish that I could be there so when this friend comes to realised that there is a God, that somebody will let me know and we can rejoice. Keep well and God Bless. What a disturbed question! "If I believe in God, do I have to hate everyone that doesn't?"
I lost my best friend when I was 5 years old because of religion. They were Methodist, and I was raised Lutheran. Since I didn't go to the same church, his parents wouldn't allow him to play with me. That was one of my first tastes of what Christianity was really about.
OF COURSE IT'S OK! If you can get along without bringing up religion, or if you can have an intelligent conversation about it without proselytizing, then enjoy your friendship!
How sad that you should even need to ask this!

Of course it is. Just agree to disagree. Don't let the atheist steal away your faith. And don't preach to them. Just don't do things that you know are sinful without preaching. Just say "That go's against my beliefs." If your differences causes problems then I would stop being friends. But if you can get along and accept & respect each others differences. then I see no reason why you can't be friends.

The bible has two thoughts on this.
! Your association with a non believer might through your love and friendship turn her toward God, and that in itself is good.
On the other hand........
2 It also says bad associations spoil useful habits.

Why wouldn't it be okay? If you can learn to except people for who they are (beliefs and all) then you are a step a head of most of your fellow Christians.

Yes. It's OK to have friends that have a different belief system. Give respect and you will get respect too.

Of course, it is okay.
It isn't easy, because obviously you will be coming from opposite world views.

Yes it is fine, even though the Bible says not to. But who are you going to listen to, a dusty book or a good friend?
