Yes, I would. Especially if he actually had a plan that would improve education. I'd love to see people learning to spell the plural form of nouns ending in "y" again.

In some respects, that has already happened. When Jefferson ran for the Presidency, his opponents attacked him as an atheist because of his views on religion. Though in reality he was a theist, not an atheist, people still had no problem voting for him. Apparently this wasn't seen as big a problem 200+ years ago, but it is today.

If an atheist were to run for office and had ideas I liked, of course I would vote for him. I am an atheist, and I have always voted for the person whose ideas are most like mine, even if they are (gasp!) Christians. I've never put much stock in what people's religious views are. It's actions that make the man, not talk.

Well I do not care for your choice in names. But yes I would vote for an Atheist for President. It would be better than voting for someone who profess to be a Christian and wasn't one. I doubt that this person would be stupid enough to try to outlaw any Faith based beliefs. I am tired of war in God's name when the Bible in the Book of Matthew say quite plainly "Blessed are the Peacemakers for they shall be called children of God"
