Why are you incapable of stopping all the killing in Detroit? Or Chicago? Or Cleveland?

Why are you incapable of stopping people from hating, or envying, or differences of opinion?

Why are you such a bitter old loser?

Why do you continue to waste our time with your inane rants?

If you remember any thing about the Vietnam conflict, then you know your answer. Its the Politician!! They went into this war for the wrong reason. Next, they didn't sit down and figure out any kind of battle plans once they go in there and how to leave. Third, the politician feel once they got Saddam out and everyone there would be happy. Wrong on the politician part, first they didn't take into account to send enough troops to make sure there is on back lash from surround country. Secondly the politician fail to realize the Sunni and Shite had been fighting for years, now they believe they would bury their axes and get alone with each other once Saddam is ousted. Please!! Third the politicians tied the hands of our fighting men and women instead let them finish the job out right before they call the war over. The politicians don't want to appear to the rest of the world that we are dictators. We just want to get Saddam out and let the Iraqis govern themselves. The proof is in the pudding.

Vietnam will come this way again if America does not unite behind it's military in helping Iraq to stabilize to the point of being able to build a strong and freer government.
If America remains divided, then we will live with our tails tucked between our legs, and this time the consequences will be more drastic for our country, as well as for the rather rocky stability of the Middle East. Americans don't realize how central the Middle East is to our national security,
just as we don't realize that North Korea remains a huge threat, for the simple reason that the more fronts we have to fight on at once, the more likely we are to lose. Take a lesson from Napoleon.

We went in, and if we don't see it through as one nation,
indivisible, we wil most definitely pay a higher price than any of us can imagine at this point.

Hmmm. Continue killing in Iraq when/where necessary or give the possibility of Iraq-related to perform another "911" because "effort" wasn't made to try and control that possibility (and we know that possibility definitely exists!)? Go troops, defend our freedom from fear! Military-minded understand more clearly it seems.

no one can stop certain segments of this society from being ruthless animals, we need to pull out and carpet bomb the bad guys, if they want to hide behind innocents so be it, thank god CNN did not cover WW2 as we did whatever necessary to kill Nazis, this war is a failure because of people like you not supporting our military and not allowing our generals to run this war without political pressure, yes it is ignorant cowards like you that our boys are fighting with one hand tied behind their back. do you not see if we withdraw we will have to go back to another place at another time with more troops to defeat our enemy's, enemies with nuclear weapons, the main goal of this war is to prevent a nuclear holocaust and the big picture here sport is that this is a regional conflict to eliminate islamofascists. I am a PROUD retired member of the military and you are a disgrace to the uniform.

Well, I think the Americans need to study exactly how they successfully occupied Japan post WW2 and other nations from time to time, but why they have failed in Viet nam and Iraq; and learn the difference between the two sets of situations and therefore possible strategies and answers to the problem

You cannot control a country, you can use force and control some of the population, but you cannot make everyone do what you want them to do. That is why we will never win in Iraq just like Vietnam.

Heck, we can't even stop the Bloods and the Crips from wasting away parts of Los Angeles. Watch your local news and you'll see the top three stories are always rape, murder, and robbery. You can set rules but there will always be people there to break them.
