A group of senior citizens all living at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in DC. planned on a White House Visit.
These are men and women who risked their lives in war so America could be free. All are retired military, and have had extensive background checks before being allowed to move into the home.
WHY were they denied a visit to the White House?? Is Busch really that afraid of our wonderful men and women who fought to keep us safe??
Please keep in mind most of these seniors are between 75 and 90! And again all were in the service during war!

This trip was planned months in advance, for security reasons of course, and if busch was there or not, I don't think anyone cared, they just wanted to visit the home of their leader and chief..that they helped defend!

Nekkra, thanks for the laugh..and You, are too modist, it is time that the younger generation learn appreciation and respect for our retired service people, you DO deserve special treatment for risking life and limb for those of us who remained safely here.

To verify call any vet at the AFRH in DC, it is posted on all their trip schedules..and this is the second year they have been denied. I have e-mailed 60 minutes asking them to check it out!
My parent that lives there signed up for the group tour, and was really looking forward to it! enclosing a link to the homes site http://www.afrh.gov/afrh/current/currentres.htm to verify, as I am not trying to insite responses but rather have a question answered..thank you

dear Navy, BusCh was a joke..as in the BEER..perhaps I should have left any samrt alec comments of my own opinion out.
I do however have the AFRH bulletin number 160 page 9 that states this
PlEASE NOTE (caps and underlined) White House Tour
After being on the white house tour for 6 months, and on pending list with ohter organizations, the response from the White House was that there will be NO tours granted at this time as of 3/20/07
HYPE??? I think NOT!

No offense to those wonderful citizens, but they do not get preferential treatment just because they are vets and they are seniors. I am a disabled vet and I wouldn't expect any special consideration if I asked to go to the White House. These are just normal citizens like you and me. That's all.
Oh, don't forget about the group of senior citizens that were on a bus in some south american country a couple of weeks ago. They were held up at gunpoint by 3 hoodlums. One senior citizen was a retired marine who disarmed the one with the gun (the other 2 had knives) and broke his neck. Sound harmless to you? I love that story !! Go retired vets !!!

You don't know the whole story. Do you work in the White House. Anything could have caused this and I really don't think it is an anti-Veteran decision, but thank for the hype. I'm a Veteran and I don't have an issue with the White House or our President.
By the way, what country do you live in? Who is President Busch? Last time I looked President BUSH was our President. Maybe your issue has more details you don't know about. Kind of like how you don't know how to spell our President's name even though it is only four letters long and can also be looked up in the average dictionary. Don't jump to such huge conclusions especially when you really have no idea what is happening.

Do you really think that the President goes thru the list of those on White House tours and says yes or no to the different tour groups ?
Heck, do you really think the President even knows what groups are scheduled for White House Tours ?
Your really reaching here.

They have daily tours. This President respects Veterans. So if it was a personal visit it may have been because of scheduling. Bush has no need to be afraid and your assumption that there is a problem between Bush the military or its veterans is dead wrong. Now if you would have said Clinton I would agree. The clintons did not allow Uniforms in the oval office. That is a fact.

You're right, I'm sure Bush sits up all night going over things like the various groups being given tours the following day and approving it all personally.

..."if" there was a "group" scheduled to visit the WH maybe it was because of "something" you are unaware of... Any one can visit the White House with proper ID and visitation time. Your question is missing a-lot of information that someone has not told you....

You have NO facts to base your story on... and an extensive search on Lexus-Nexus failed to turn up ANYTHING similar to what you've claimed. And IF it were true, I am SURE that the media would have LEPT on it with relish.
Sounds to me to be a probable scheduling issue if it's true.

Well, how much $$$ did they contribute ?
100,000.00 would get you 10 minutes with Bush in a photo op.
