Mine is: "Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart"

I love this one. It reminds me to not be judgemental. Only God sees what is in one's heart.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight." Proverbs 3:5-6

This is such a comforting verse for me because I can be much of a worrywart. Whenever I am anxious, I meditate on this verse. It kinda calms me down. It means a lot to me. Whenever I hear or say this, I remember to lift everything up unto the Lord.

“I am the light of the world, whosoever follows me shall never walk in darkness (and shall never be alone and separated from God) but have the light of life (eternal life with God through Jesus)” (John 8:12)

This reminds me how much God loves me, needs me and wants me and the same for everyone else in the world. (Just like in John 3:16)

Psalm 37:25
I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

No matter what I am going through the Lord is always making way for me

"Be still and know that I am God"
I love that scripture because it encourages us to stop all of the fightng and trying to convince. It tells us to relax and be quiet and get in touch with the reality that is within all of us. It has helped me in life by letting me know how to find peace. It has helped me understand that my personal relationship with God does not depend on ANY religous dogma, nor anyone elses ideas.

"The person you are today is the product of every decision you have ever made"

its not in the bible but maybe it should be........
people might just take a little more responsability for their lives.....and if they are not happy with their lives, look at past decisions & make better ones in the future.....
I love it because it is true

Matthew 6:5,6

Though it would be more accurate to say that I *cite* this more than anything else, when anyone starts in on trying to get teacher-led prayer in our public schools.

I fully appreciate your views and I do endorse the same. I can now look at your heart since it contains such lofty ideas.

My favorite is

"when ever you are not joyous it is because you have thought some thought about some brother that God would not have wanted you to think.

When ever this happens ask your self this-- What am I thinking that God would not have thought, and what am I not thinking that God would have me think."

Love and blessings Don

The only one I quote with any regularity now is "Jesus WEPT!"

I used to quote I Cor 13 to myself when I was a christian - to remind me how to deal with others.
