Last night i woke up with the most excruciating pain in my stomach. I wen to the loo and was back and forward for ages before anything happened. I then had really bad diarrhoea but am now vwry worried because it had lots of bright red blood in it. I dont feel much better today, i have been to the loo a few times and the pain is still bad but there isnt much blood now. Should i see a dr? I dont have piles, and havent eaten anything dodgy that i can think of, i'm very worried.

You should see your doctor. sounds like an acute case of food-poisoning to me, but pretty severe as it seems you may have gotten sudden onset gastroenteritis as a result. not a huge worry... but consult your GP to get to the root of the problem and get it resolved

To be honest, there are a number of minor things that could cause the problems you have mentioned BUT there are also a number of very serious things that could as well.

The problem is, if you ignore it and it IS a serious problem then leaving it unattended could give you a poorer prognosis in the long run.

Go to the doctor now whilst you are well enough to get there.

If it is bright red blood, it is probably from your rectum or large bowel, not higher up.

Diverticulitis, cancer, irritation, internal piles, it could be a number of things.

you still have pain, dont waste your time here, you know where you need to be

Try not to worry, but yes go and see your dr asap just incase. Something v similar happened to my friend the week before last, but it happened several times to her - her dr wasn't v worried but refered her to the hospital just in case - hopefully neither of yous will have anything to worry about - from what my friends dr said it is v common. Hope that helps - good luck xx

Yes you ought to see a doctor if only to put your mind at rest. It sounds as though you may have eaten something that was maybe contaminated in some way, but it could be serious and you need to check it out and get treatment. Good luck.

Please go and see a doctor, if your in that much pain call the NHS direct for 1st advice if your doctor is unavailable, or if need be an ambulance. Take no risks with your health! Blood in anything is not a good sign, could you be pregnant? This could be anything babe, try to stay focused, but seek medical advise.

You need to a doctor soon. That sounds like possible intestinal bleeding. Have you ever had an ulcer? Whether or not you are sure there was blood, you need to consult with your doctor today.

I'd see my doctor straight away if it were me, you cant take chances where theres blood concerned. there could be a simple explanation, but you wont know till you get checked out.
