Sometimes it's so much fun to be a bit dyslexic! Last night I was sure someone asked why Jehovah's Witnesses don't let their children go to birthday panties...

Any other favourite R&S mis-readings/typos?

The typo question below was quickly deleted and re-asked without the typo:

Why are there no WIDOWS in Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Halls?

Incidentally, most Kingdom Halls of Jehovah's Witnesses have widows and windows both. Admittedly, some Halls have only one of the two (or neither).

(I know you are trying to joke here, but that question was probably serious).

Jehovah's witnesses don't believe in celebrating their own birthdays. But my daughter had a friend who was Jehovah's witness and she would come to my daughter's birthday party. Believe it or not, there are some non-pushy JWs out there!!

As far as God allowing surfing...if you have ever sat on the edge of a large lake or Ocean, then you realize how relaxing the water can be...

Well, it probably has to do with surfers being some kind of chosen people.

And, of course, God made all the oceans so that surfers could surf. Among a few other reasons. I have heard surfers say on TV many times, "My God, look at that surf." Or, "God Almighty look at those waves." So that makes it obvious to me that they have a special connection to God and he made them the "Chosen Surfer People." Btw, God also created the Beach Boys.

Declaring the power of salvific suffering, the Apostle Paul says: "In my flesh I complete what is lacking in Christ's afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the Church".

These words seem to be found at the end of the long road that winds through the suffering which forms part of the history of man and which is illuminated by the Word of God. These words have as it were the value of a final discovery, which is accompanied by joy. For this reason Saint Paul writes: "Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake". The joy comes from the discovery of the meaning of suffering, and this discovery, even if it is most personally shared in by Paul of Tarsus who wrote these words, is at the same time valid for others. The Apostle shares his own discovery and rejoices in it because of all those whom it can help—just as it helped him—to understand the salvific meaning of suffering.

I'm with you on that one again Q. As far as Jehovah's Witnesses not celebrating holidays is because that it the part that they have correct in their religion---most are Paganistic and were taken out of context by the lunacy and traditions of men. Example: the Christmas Tree is an idol.

The one about "Jovial Wanderers" in a football question cracked me up. Then there was the "Latter Day Morons" in R&S. Followed by "What did God mean in Genesis 13:16, when he spoke to Adram?" (Someone not sure if it was chapter 3 or chapter 13, clearly.)

I don't know why he allows surfing. It's kinda like how he lets pineapple to be on pizza - everyone likes it even though jehovah's witnesses think it's a sin.
