I imagine a cell or two vanishing from our brain, or like a file being thrown away from a cabinet... That's illogical, isn't it? How does this memory storage thing works, really?

I don't think anyone knows specifically. The brain, however is bombarded with stimuli constantly either from the eyes, ears or other senses. The brain sits there and tries to keep everything prioritized. Sometimes when we forget stuff it is not because a cell has vanished from our brain because we remember it when it is brought to our attention. The reason we forget it is because it slipped to a low priority or perhaps we did a sub conscious override because we didn't want to do it in the first place. Dang! I forgot!! is a great excuse.

Our brain has wires or nerve wires connecting everything. Forgetting is easily done when some wires are dissolved by the acid in the imbalanced chemicals building up in the brain dissolve the wires. Stress is a good factor but then lack of circulation will allow the nerve wires to deteriorate as well. Hotties have good circulation with their life style and they are all about memory. But Hotties fail to be deep thinkers or creative where the deeper wires are used to think on their own. A hottie is just a hot mammary bank. Get it.

Surprisingly we don't really forget anything, it is just filed away in a different part of the brain, sort of like putting data in a folder on your computer. Have you heard the term 'Sleep on it?' During your sleep cycle, the brain regenerates and many of the things you thought were forgotten will be remembered, this is why it is so important to get to the REM stage of sleep. Many or our dreams can help us solve problems or remember forgotten things. Hope this helps.

The neural connections don't work and that is how we forget. When the connection is made, we remember. Under hypnosis, people remember many details which they were not aware of when awake.

If you were attentive and receptive, the file would be store in safe place, why we forget is because we either weren't attentive so we stored it in the "short term folder" or you misplaced the info into the wrong folder e.g. name of person into name of places folder.
