It stays freshest if you keep your sausage in your pants. LOL. ~JUST KIDDING!~
I'd buy a cooler and keep them on ice. If you don't have the funds to do that, I'd ask a friend or relative to keep them in their fridge. Whatever you do, don't leave them out!
Another option may be to go ahead and cook them (if they're not already). This lessens the chance of them growing the awful bacteria that can make you sick. After you cook them, find a cold place to store 'em.

If no other method of cooling them to about 40 degrees doesn't exist, then you can cook them and they will last a few days longer than if they were raw. Be sure your talking about fresh sausage vs smoked vs cured.Raw sausage will keep a few days longer if it is cooked.
