I have my W-2 from 2004 and need to file it. I am aware that you cannot do e-file for backtaxes, but I don't know where to go to take care of this. I would rather do it for free (obviously) but don't mind having to pay a small fee as long as I can have it deducted from my return.

I went to H&R Block and they told me they could not file this for me. I live in Oklahoma (Tulsa). If anyone has any advice, I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

You can download the forms from the IRS http://www.irs.gov and OK Tax Commission http://www.oktax.state.ok.us/itforms.html websites. You can also purchase prior year tax software on-line and prepare them that way.

The idiot at Block doesn't know what he or she was talking about. They can't e-file the return for you but they certainly CAN prepare a paper return that you'd mail in. Maybe you don't want to go to Block after all...

in addition to what this fellow above me said,, you can find an AARP tax site in Tulsa or a VITA tax site that will be happy to help you fill out the forms for free.
here's a link to AARP

https://locator.aarp.org/vmis/sites/tax_aide_locator.jsp

you can also call 800-829-1040 for the site close to you, there are several in Tulsa

These sites usually don't do return for more than $30,000. or so ,, but would still assist you with 2004 forms, etc.
