I have a similar problem myself. I don't work as much as I should. Luckily I have a job where I can work when I want to, but I don't make as much money as I need to as a result. I do have depression, and that's why.
In your case, it depends. Do you often have feelings of hopelessness? Lonely? Like you'll never be happy? Sadness? Maybe even when there's no reason? If you think yes on any of these, you probably do have depression, and you should see a therapist. Medicine can make it improve some. Do it before you get fired.

Franekg, you sure didn't give much info, but lets face it,Everyone takes a day off now and then.Sometimes, you just need a break. Have you been eating and sleeping properly? Are you stressed? Talk to a trusted friend,or see your doctor, and ask for advise if you feel unsure.

I used to feel, as you do, my friend, but, - after visiting my DOCTOR, - he diagnosed what HE described as "MILD" DEPRESSION, - put me on a course of PILLS, - told me, to take a few more days, off work, to REST, - and, - within a few days, - I was feeling, very MUCH, like my OLD SELF, again, - I was "REFRESHED", and RARING TO GO!
When, - AFTER that, - I RETURNED to my job, - I was SO MUCH MORE ACTIVE, - and, got MUCH more work DONE, that my EMPLOYERS just COULDN'T KEEP UP!
So, just TALK to your DOCTOR, my friend, - but, - above ALL, - do not WORRY, - you just need HELP, - but you WILL be FINE!
Good LUCK, to you! Let me KNOW, in an E-mail, - via THIS site, - what your Doctor SAYS, please!

Not having the will to do something that you essentially need to do, can be a sign of depression.

If you're just talking about today, then no you aren't depressed. If it persists for weeks, you could be.

I hope your boss is reading your message, and that he/she gives your job to someone who wants and needs it to support a family. I suspect that you're not lazy - you just haven't learnt to take responsibility for your own actions.
