I recently came across several bottled water bottles that I had stored since 2001. Unfortunately they expired in 2004. I didn't realize water had an expiration date. I was wondering if the water would be safe to use on plants or for any other purposes.

Yes, water your garden with it, do your washing up with it, you can do anything but drink it

Water doesn't have an expiration date, there is nothing in it to go off as such, but to comply with laws governing food and drinks etc it must have an expiration date on it to be sold as a food product. If it were me Id drink it anyway, but if you don't want to... use it to do your washing, or on your plants.

Water never goes bad. After all it's been on the planet forever and it's still good enough to drink. They just put an expiration date on it so you would buy more water when the date ran out.

You can use the water in plants, your iron and I use my old bottled water in my relaxation fountain because it won't cause it to clog.
