Leviticus 18:22, the oft-quoted favorite of homophobes, fundamentalists and other members of the lunatic fringe says "Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind:it is abomination." That means if a lesbian tries to change and go straight, it's a sin, right?
I mean, the bible can be so confusing....

Leviticus 18:22 is definitely quoted frequently, and often incorrectly. What it says is:
כב ואת זכר--לא תשכב משכבי אשה תועבה הוא
Not shall you lie with man [in the] bed of woman, [it is] against custom.
The word is tow'ebah, essentially means frowned upon. It is clearly not stating sin and the context also specifies "in the bed of woman", which is odd, because if it was wrong to lay with a man in general, why would this be specified? It appears more that it was saying not to fool around with your boyfriend in your wife's bed. As men were generally the ones in power in the culture at the time, it would be far more possible for a man to bring another sexual partner home than it would for a woman, which is probably why it is gender specific. The laws here are actually being told to Moses, who is a male, so "you" is a particular man.
Tow'ebah is also used to refer to dietary restrictions, menstruation, mixing of fabrics, and other minor things.

Although, I know one may not have been there, try reading it in this way and see if it helps. "And with a male you shall not lay[,] lyings of a woman". In our language..."Don't have sex with another man, sex is something to be done with a woman." The Bible is pretty clear that a woman is only supposed to lay with her husband. Anyway, I do not know a lot about it, but marriage was a contract between a man and a woman back then. Today, I believe it still is in most states. I think the only thing to consider is the behavior. Whether you are wired to be attracted to the same sex and not just experimenting or "going through a phase", ultimately, it boils down to you making a choice about your behavior.

God took Eve from the Rib of Adam, He told them be fruitful and multiply. Genesis 1:28 (Paraphrasing). Leviticus 18:22 speaks of mankind lying with mankind, as with womankind. It is an abomination. How can man and man reproduce? Woman and woman reproduce as God created us to? Cannot. I stumbled upon this, as God has me in the book of immorality Leviticus refreshing my earlier studies on such. With this behavior, we all know God is NOT PLEASED...Boy this is old, but a very good read.

never talked about lesbian activity ... double-standard here, but oh well, they're only human.
[BIG switch when going from OT to NT, the standards for writings went waaay downhill and mostly the quirks of Paul supplanted the teachings of Jesus and the Essene rabbinical tradition]

This is in connection with the prohibition of God for sexual intercourse with somebody else.
He is prohibiting a man having sexual intercourse to his fellow man and not to do to a man what he is doing to a woman.

No, your interpetation is completely wrong. The passage is written in the "masculine", but the message of the passage is that God considers homosexuality, of any kind, as an abomination. If you will go to Romans chapter 1, you will see the affirmation that lesbianism is considered just as bad an abomination as two men engaged in homosexuality. Both genders, engaged in this lifestyle, are an abomination to God.
The Bible is not confusing, if you read the entire book, not just bits and pieces of it. You cannot make rational conclusions by only reading part of it.

No. Put first things first. Being a lesbian is the wrong thing. Changing from a wrong thing (lesbian) to the right thing (straight) is the proper and right thing to do. Being gay is the wrong thing. Going straight is the right thing. Not the other way around. God was telling men not to go to bed with other men as they go to bed (have sexual relations) with a woman. This rule is for men and women.....All who want to sleep with someone of the same sex.
