Dear Friend,
Your question is based on the teaching of the Holy Trinoty, unfortunately this doctrine is not Gods, but is of Man.
Christ was the son of the one true God.
They are separate beings, Many people will tell you that they exist as a trinity, but this is simply not true, consider the following scripture.
John 14:28"You heard me say, 'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
Also
Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they will die,
but the dead know nothing;
they have no further reward,
and even the memory of them is forgotten.
If the Trinity doctrine was true, then who resurrected Jesus when he was dead? and why did Jesus say the father is 'Greater that I'
Therefore pray to God, but in Jesus name. Jesus is our redeemer and King, but is the Son of God, not God himself
And concerning the kingdom,
Matthew 24:36
[ The Day and Hour Unknown ] "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
If Jesus was God then why did he not know.
And again, in the book of Mark
The Greatest Commandment
Mark 12:28One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?"
29"The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.[e] 30Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'[f] 31The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'[g]There is no commandment greater than these."
32"Well said, teacher," the man replied. "You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. 33To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices."
34When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions.
The lord is ONE/ you are right in saying he is ONE.
I urge you to investigate these things for yourself, many Christians will tell you that it is a mystery that we are not meant to understand, Not so! God wants us to understand everything clearly so that we can come to him with accurate knowledge that breeds love.
The bible also says:
Ephesians 3:8Although I am less than the least of all God's people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. 10His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms
"make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God"
There is not Trinity mystery because it does not exist!
God Bless

God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are all part of God. This is simplified but it resembles a person who is a parent, an individual, and teacher. There are three roles but only one person. For the child, the parent is most approachable. For the friend the individual is most approachable. For the student the teacher is the most appropriate. But there is still only one person filling each of these roles.
edit: The early Christians fully understood Jesus as God. They proclaim it all through the New Testament. Just because the Catholic Church decided it had to make it "legal" doesn't mean the early church didn't believe it.

I think they'd be surprised to find that the concept that they're so fond of, the Trinity, was stolen from Pagan cultures and beliefs during the conception of Modern Christianity, even the early Christians didn't acknowledge jesus as a God.

Jesus *is* God, as is the Holy Spirit. They are all manifestations of the One God. They are individual entities, but yet One, as God. As God, they have always existed, and will always exist. The "Second Person" of God was sent down to earth, became flesh, and dwelt among us (John: Chapter 1) to atone for our sins and free us from the bondage of sin and death that our first ancestors placed us in. He will come again when the final end comes. The Holy Spirit is also God, in another form, as the "Third Person" of the Triune, but One God. God sometimes sends His Holy Spirit down to fill us when we need it or ask Him for it. For example, the Apostles were filled with God's Holy Spirit immediately after Jesus' death, so that they could continue on preaching and spreading the Good News of the Gospel to all nations, speaking in tongues and performing miracles in His name.
Jesus is not exalted more than God - He is God, made man because God wanted to save us from our own sin, and our own collective "disconnect" from God. The sin debt that was built up by mankind's sin was too great for us to atone for solely on our own.

think of Father, Son and Holy Spirit as one. Bit like the royal family. The bible mentions all three being their from the beginning, Treat it as a Godhead not 3 different Gods.

It's called the Trinity. This sublimely unfathomable doctrine states that Jesus is God, his Daddy is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, and that there is only one God. Look up "Athanasianism" if you want to understand more; i couldn't keep up with all the natures and substances and whatnots.
Don't worry; Christians freely confess that they don't understand it either.

God is one and He reveals himself in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. They are one and equally God. Scripture supports the trinity.
