You're correct in that you need, with your doctors, to find the reason for your problems. But I need to caution you that finding the cause isn't;'t the same as finding a way to get rid of the problem. Some problems simply can't be gotten rid of, but you still need to know what it is. If you haven't yet seen the following doctors, insist that your gp do the referrals: rheumatologist orthopaedic surgeon pain doctor You could only see a pain specialist if your pain were chronic, which means a minimum of 6 months. You qualify. At 22, you're not too young to have a chronic health problem of any type. The textbooks may say otherwise, but no illness reads the textbooks. Don't allow you relative youth to get in the way of a diagnosis and don't allow your doctors to ignore it because of your age. Something that you have to get used to at this point is that your problem may not be curable but it could be manageable. That will mean, however, that you will always have some level of pain. But without a diagnosis, as complete diagnosis, you and your health care team can't begin to work on finding the optimal, for you and for now, combination of management techniques. These techniques could well include pain meds, with the intention of allowing you to continue to function on a routine basis, most of the time.

I don't know what to suggest about the medication. I am wondering if you have tried physical therapy for the pain? I had the pain you describe after a car accident. When my PT got me to go to the health club and do water exercises she knew of, my pan went away. I had had the pain for over six months before I found this therapist. I never found a medication that could get rid of that pain, as it is a nerve pain. I have not had the problem reoccur and it's been over ten years.

Lyrica is for nerve pain.
You are talking about siatic nerve which is different.
If you put your body weight onto your heels more and all day , whenever you think about it. It will re adjust your back and the shooting pains will stop in a matter of a few days if not sooner. \
I just did it after putting up with pain and narcotics for years.
I did that for 3 days and now I take nothing and dont hurt.

Only a dr can help you figure out which medication may work best for your situation but first thing that must be done is to try and find the cause of the pain. Once this is done then it makes it a bit easier to find the right kind of medication for your situation if medication is going to be a necessary part of the process for treating the pain.

Sounds like you're having sciatic nerve pain and it will take some time to go away. I would recommend you take and anti-inflammatory like aspirin/ibuprophen with food, and take it easy. Eventually it will heal itself. If you're carrying anything in your back pocket that might be pressing on the area, get rid of it. If you're carrying a purse on that shoulder move it to the opposite side. Warm compresses help too and improve the circulation....And REST!!! Godloveya.

Sounds like a pinched nerve.Pain killers probably won't help.Either go to a chiropractor or your doctor.Therapy is the only way to "cure"it.Pain killers will only mask it.But if you need a good pain reliever before you go try Aleve. It's over the counter and great. Good luck

I'm not really helping you with your question i guess. But the best way is not taking medicines. Go consult a doctor. You do not know the real cause and should not take them without proper consultation.
