The first answerer listed some very good sources. The Stuttering Foundation at www.stutteringhelp.org is one that our family has gotten good information from. I have heard that the Michael Palin Centre is good, too.

Surely, see a good speech therapist and get your self educated about stuttering through the websites people have mentioned. Also, see www.stutteringhomepage.com.
But be prepared to live with your stammering through out your life. It is a hard fact which we must understand. Believe me you can be very successful in your profession and life even with stuttering. There are many examples of such great people.
The two suggestions I have:
1. Don't take your stuttering so seriously that you can't laugh on yourself.
2. Do take your stuttering and life so seriously that other's don't laugh on you.
Believe me in good university, jobs, and educated people, what you say is more important than how you say. But being this handicap, you have to compensate by excelling in other fronts.
Also, try Yoga, meditation to keep your mind very calm.
Good luck.

When I was growing up I spoked too fast and so I went to a Speech Therapist. (I had trouble with my own lang. which was English) I stopped going by the time I was in Third Grade.
TIP One: Try speaking slowly.
I know this sounds mean - but carefully phrase your words - try to stay away from the words you have trouble with - mine are "S", and Toliet it becomes "toll let" so I say Rest Room.
TIP 2: Practice Dialogue with a friend -
TIP 3: You need to call someone on the phone - afraid of what might be said - write a prescript / dialogue of what you want to say to that person - use an outline as well, BUT when you actually call that person use the script only as reference
TIP #4 VERY IMPORTANT: RELAX
Hope this helps.

You could try it like this. Some poems have rhyming words together. You would consider practicing your speech with them and slowly... your stuttering will go better. Of course, it does not take one day to overcome this obstacle. Consider a few months or maybe better 1 or 2 months. Perhaps a long time, but i think it's a very good solution. And it might be risen from nervousness. But anyway, if someone truly likes/loves you as a friend/family member, they will not mind your stutters. Try it yourself. I hope it will work for you.

Gosh I feel very bad for you, There isn't much you can do on your own you have to visit a specialist to help you, I know you said you don't have much money. I don't really know what else to say to make you feel better. I have heard that you take a deep breath in before you speak it will help some. I really wish I could help you in some way, if you were in the US you would have been treated,

I have a friend who stuttered badly; when he learned another language (Mandarin Chinese) he realized he never stuttered in Mandarin so he was able to carry it over to English. It took him a couple of years, but it worked! So learning another language helps some people.
Some singers stutter when they talk, but not when they sing. Could your business benefit if you sang as your worked?
