Why didn't Chelsea Clinton serve in the military her dad sure did like deploying our guys too. She was 18 years old when all of the following operations happened: Operation Safe Border, Operation Joint Guard, Operation Deliberate Guard, Operation Determined Guard, Intrinsic Action I-III, Determined Falcon, Operation Joint Forge, Operation Deliberate Forge, Operation Determine Forge, Operation Safe Departure, Operation Shepherd Venture, Operation Balkan Calm, Operation Autumn Shelter, Operation Resolute Response, Operation Infinite Reach, Operation Eagle Eye, Operation Strong Support, Operation Desert Fox, Operation Noble Anvil, Operation Shining Hope, Operation Joint Guardian, Operation Avid Response, Operation Stabilise, Operation Fundamental Response, Operation Atlas Response, Operation Determined Response, and Operation Desert Spring. This isn't even including the 37 other deployments he ordered before 1998, and lets not forget how much he did to support the military during his 8 years.

Very simple answer. Bush's daughters are not at war because they are not in the military. They did not sign up to join the military therefore they do NOT have to go. Thousands of American soldiers VOLUNTERED to go into the military therefore if they get orders to go to war they GO!

Because it's an all-volunteer force, and they didn't volunteer. Chelsea still has time to make it to Bosnia.

It's funny how you failed to mention that President Bush's nephew just joined the Naval Reserve. Or did they not cover that on Air America?

Millions of people haven't died as a result of the liberation of Iraq.

MAYBE they did not qualify, I hope that our nation's military; does not take just anyone. Regardless, of who they or their parents are.

What does the question of 'patriotism', have to do with who is or is not serving; in the US Armed Forces?

Why don't we ask a real tough question, like: HOW {here in the USA} the burning of a US flag or a soldier in effigy; can possibly be Patriotic?

Such a stupid question, if you're so patriotic why aren't you fighting? Some logic you make there buddy. Basically you're saying everyone that isn't fighting is un patriotic, right? Besides, what does the President's patriotism have to do with his daughters?

Prince Charles's sons certainly have their problems, but notice that one of them recently was notified that he will be serving in Iraq. So power and prestige don't preclude the possibility of military service.

Those who said that they are adults who can make decisions for themselves are absolutely right. It's just worth noting that one of the decisions they made was not to serve in their father's war effort, though they avidly campaigned for him.

Overall, internal consistency isn't a strong suit with this administration. Remember that it is strongly anti-gay marriage, yet Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter is soon to have a baby she intends to raise with her partner. I'm at a loss to understand how she chose to work so hard for the re-election of an administration that wouldn't want her partner to have parental rights if she died.

Face it: it's got to be tough to be a literal child of this administration.

See, you have to pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery to enter the US military... something that keeps most of the Yahoo!Answerers from really enlisting...
