Do you get enough water? The major cause of dry or itchy skin is due to a lack of your daily intake of water. Try drinking the 64 oz a day and see if your hands gets better. If this isn't helpful, you may be allergic to something.

Did you use anything abrasive like cleaning liquids, chemicals or bleach? Those things can dry out your skin and even burn it. No guessing, just make an appointment with your doctor and get some meds for it. Don't wait so long to see your doctor next time anything happens. Good luck!

you could be sensitive to latex dish gloves,or reacting to any number of food or contact substances.You need to visit an allergist to find out exactly the cause,a doctor is the only one who can officially diagnose your condition.Use some over the counter psoriasis creams until you can get in for the appointment.Neem oil is very good for this type of condition,and can actually speed healing.

Psoriasis, or extremely dry skin. I ordinarily don't suggest this, but you might want to see a dermatologist.

Now, my husband does have trouble with extremely dry skin on his hands, especially in the winter. About all we can do is give him extra water, and keep lots of lotion on hand.

my bf has had this for like 4yrs maybe more it started on his right foot and them spred to his left he found that he could only use dove soap no fragrance well that helped his feet but then he got it on his hands any time he washed dishes, or his hands (sanitizer too) but he was fine with hypo allergenic soaps and detergents. when some of the clothes detergent got on his finger it instantly dried cracked and itched

it might be a form of eczema, i am going through it right now on my right ring finger. my doctor prescribed some cream called triamcinolone 0.1%. it is clearing up. go to a dermatologist to make sure. hope this helped, cause i know how aggrevating the itching is and the skin getting scaly and peeling....uggggggg

mm do you dip them in water a lot? maybe if you work at a place where yu constantly have to wash them or dip them in something?! like a food workplace you have to wash so you dip them in sanitizer?! i had that but i just started moisturizing a lot more.
