Ignorance can be very blissful, but wisdom is a freeing thing that empowers you and makes you something great. It isn’t easy though, because truth is not always as beautiful as we’d like it to be.

Ignorance is bliss and wisdom is sorrow to the ignorant and its the other way around to the wise........Actually, the statement relates that the wise will go through life questioning everything while the ignorant could care less......Kind of like saying what you don't know can't hurt you.......Wisdom is the goal for all souls, ignorance is the way out for egos.

I cannot guarantee that ignorance is bliss. I know it can be, at least until whatever it is that you are ignoring hits you.

Wisdom is sorrow. You can see the evil things going on around you, or in your life, and you want to put a stop to it, but you realize that you cannot. That is not fun. On the positive side, you are much less likely to get blindsided by whatever just hit the ignorant person, and you can at least try to do something about things, or perhaps warn others of impending danger. Then you get to watch them ignore your warnings and you wonder why you even tried. If you keep it up, you save one here, one there, and you realize that ultimately it is worth it.

The adage is correct as is....however, keep perspective...
Ignorance is only bliss until you realize that making the choice not to change that situation becomes blatant stupidity...
and wisdom is sorrow only for those with brains who don't use them.
LOL Have a Great Day!

Ignorance is bliss because those that are ignorant are immune to the horrid truths of life. Wisdom only lurks in those who have experienced the hardships and blows of life. Wise people thus bestow such knowledge upon others who may be ignorant.

Logically, it may seem that one who gains knowledge would be happy to know they now know the "tricks" to life, but such is the opposite because now it is known that life must be lived through the usage of such tricks.

Is that why I am so sorrowful? ;-)

Like Happykid said, it really does depend on what the wisdom is about and what you are ignorant about.
