I was a 'zealot' once, then I started actually interacting with people outside my faith.
I think before we release new converts on the world they should be tested to A) make sure they know what the hell they're talking about, and B) have a basic understanding on how to treat other people like human beings (we all put our foot in it occasionally, but ideally people shouldn't see how far they can cram it in before they get slapped). When I was in my 'zealot' phase I did violate both those principles (I wish I could go back and apologize to some people)
EDIT:
I still 'evangelize' but in an area that suits my strengths (science, mathematics, book-learnin' type stuff) instead of playing to my weaknesses (talking to strangers about intimate theological matters without being asked to). You's be amazed at how receptive people get to Christianity when they find out you're not foaming at the mouth.

properly i've got faith that way too from time to time, in spite of the undeniable fact that such as you mentioned, no longer that far lower back. i've got faith that I ought to have been born interior the early 50s because of the fact i'm continually observing previous television shows from that era and flicks from then and that i perfer a great style of the actors/actresses from such era (ie. Doris Day, Rock Hudson, Tim Conway, Debbie Reynolds, Tony Randal, Cary grant, and so on.) The song is plenty extra suitable from that era too! I additionally choose the romance became like that era becaus we've some particularly screwed up romance stuff now and days. So quite i became born 30 years late. *sigh* in spite of the undeniable fact that i've got not got faith interior the total reincarnation element having a secondlife.

When you first have that awakening experience with God, you feel like you must tell everyone. It feels so good. That desire comes with you being born again or being made brand new from within. Your view points are different, you feel refreshed, you want to share it with everyone. This desire continues if you constantly stay renewed in the Word and want to spread Love. Be careful with this cause some non-believers view you as pushy and it runs them away from God. you can develop the "higher than thou syndrome" Just spread his Holy Word to those who have an open heart. Don't get upset when non-believers don't want to listen. Remember they have a choice just like you.

Nope. I see how disgusting it is and I never felt the need to act like that. I don't know everything and I don't know what's right. I also have a huge problem with condemning people so, I always stayed away from that kind of behavior. There's better ways to get your ideas across than to shove them down people's throat and tell them they're going to hell. Somehow, I always knew that. Call it a good upbringing from my mom.

Zeal is love on fire however God has been humbling me and I am learning alot about who is in charge. I am exuberant and enthuisiatic and encouraging but I know where I cam from so that keeps me from thinking I am all that and holier than thou the only one who is truly Holy is the Lord.
